We went during off season and had a private tour. Our guide was well versed in the history of the cavern and local area. The cavern its self look like it was made for a Hollywood remake of, Journey to the Center of the Earth.

My friends and I camped at Appalachian Caverns for a week. The campground was beautiful and the bathrooms were clean. The campgrounds had water, electrical and rv hookups.
