We went during off season and had a private tour. Our guide was well versed in the history of the cavern and local area. The cavern its self look like it was made for a Hollywood remake of, Journey to the Center of the Earth. More

My friends and I camped at Appalachian Caverns for a week. The campground was beautiful and the bathrooms were clean. The campgrounds had water, electrical and rv hookups. Also, every site had fire pits and wood to buy at a very inexpensive rate. It is also dog friendly! The staff was so nice, they made you feel like you were... More

Our family took the Wild Tour with Roger, the owner. He was an excellent guide. While my children (ages 16, 13, 10) were eager to try all kinds of tunnels, I was not eager to try anything too small and he was able to accomodate all levels.
