Set in a pretty village, this is an excellent hotel. Clean, modern, friendly, good value. Wonderful views of the River Barrow. Large covered deck area for sitting out by the river. Excellent menu in the restaurant, beautiful food, friendly service. Nice traditional country pub. We will definitely be back. Negatives : the bar toilets need an upgrade, they are clean... More

I am a fairly frequent visitor here, once a month or so depending on business circumstances. This is a newly refurbished and extended Beautique Hotel. Lovely rooms with fourposter beds and marble bathrooms in each room. Sited right on the river, it has it's own deck for river cruisers and barges. Plenty of parking space. The staff are all highly... We booked this hotel because we were attending a function nearby. We'd been here before and liked it. Unfortunately the whole hotel looks a bit 'Tired'. At breakfast there was a pile of chairs tumbled into a corner of the dining room. The plates were not quite clean and the whole hotel just looked like it needed a bit of... More

Dear Grundy63, Thank you for your review of The Lord Bagenal Inn. I am very sorry to learn that you found the experience disappointing on this visit. It is through clients observations that we learn where we can improve our standards. I recall the morning in question myself - it followed an event which had taken place in the breakfast... More

We booked this short break without reckoning on Mothers Day falling on the same day! I was afraid that we would not be able to dine at their restaurant since I know how popular that is. However, despite the number of diners and the lateness of the hour we had an excellent meal. The staff we under pressure to serve... More

The Lord Bagenal Hotel ensured that our wedding day was perfect from start to finish. It was a pleasure to deal with Sue, our wedding coordinator; she, along with her colleagues pulled out all the stops to ensure we had a fantastic day!
