Stayed in this B&B for one night while attending a family get-together in town. The house itself is lovely and well maintained, although not to my personal taste - very old fashioned, lots of fussy carpets and furnishings. The room we were shown to was very large with an enormous comfortable bed. However, there were some issues - the proprietor... More

We stayed in this guest house for the weekend of the Electric Picnic last year. All aspects of our stay were excellent. The rooms are large and very well maintained, and the house itself is beautiful. There is ample parking and the location could not be mre convenient for getting trains or buses (literally a few metres from the train... More

Charming Georgian House on outskirts of town centre within 5 mins walk of all major pubs restaurants and 2 mins from cinema. Ideal location and safe parking at rear. The house is wonderful. No lift but huge bed rooms and large bathrooms with good showers. Our room had a massive bed with lovely antique furniture. All furnishings and bed linen... More

perhaps a relic of the celtic tiger this is definitely a cut above the standard B&B but at the end of the day for the price, its still just a B&B and perhaps should lower their fees. We stayed here for a weekend as a last minute thing and so didnt shop around. The place has a real charm about... More

Just one night at this b and b in central Portlaoise whilst attending a conference nearby. Nice furnishings, bed linen and excellent breakfast room/breakfast and free car parking at rear. If there were any 'could do better' areas I would suggest offering guests cuppa on arrival and maybe even a smile! Otherwise no complaints.

I have stayed here 5 times in the last 7 years while going to Electric Picnic and it's been great every single time. Jerry and Dina are great hosts and their house is beautiful. It's perfectly located beside the train station, the rooms are excellent and the breakfast is superb. On Electric Picnic weekends, breakfast is quite a sociable occasion... More

We like to share our home with our guests and make them feel relaxed. They should enjoy the experience of staying in a historic house. We stayed here for one night whilst touring the country. This was our first experience of using a B&B establishment and we were very happy with our choice.
