We couldn't get in at our usual hotels in Lynton and Lynmouth so we tried the Heddons Gate Hotel. It's a bit out-in-the-wilds for us, but we can see why people like it so much. The hotel is in an isolated position surrounded by lovely woodland in a steep valley. Very good, personal service. I felt like a valued customer. Nothing was too much trouble. We last visited this hotel in 1979 and have finally made it back! Although under different ownership It is still a wonderful place to stay with superb food and a lovely location.
