One is so often disappointed with hotels but our visit to the Thurlestone Hotel was quite the opposite . Delightful staff , wonderful location and the food was out of the top drawer and that is from somone who is very hard to please.

This is the nicest hotel my wife and I regularly stay at. Apart from the excellence of all it`s amenities it has the most courteous and helpful staff you could ever wish to meet. The high
standards achieved, particularly in areas of comfort, service and quality of food has much to
do with their continuous concern for further improvements and...

Just spent a long weekend at this excellent hotel where the service, food and accomodation were first class. Cant wait to return when the refurbishments have finished, the pub next door also does excellent food.

This is probably the nicest hotel my husband and I stay at regularly. We come back most years which must be a good recommendation.
We go for the food, the view, and the countryside. this year we treated our selves to a superior room and were not dissapointed. I think it was worth the extra money.
The resturaunt was excellent...

Dear bucklehouse,
You are obviously one of our many ‘regulars’ so thank you for your loyalty and continued support! I am so glad you enjoyed your Superior Room this year and thought it worth the extra.
Looking forward to welcoming you back next time and showing you round the new Spa.

Great family hotel with unique British charm. Everything works well. Rooms well appointed and clean, nothing too much trouble. A bit pricey, but all in all good value.

Probably one of the best hotels in the Westcountry. Situated well away from the masses and providing luxury and style at sensible prices.
First class well presented food and professional staff. Good management.
Makes a pleasant change to find an hotel run as well as this.

I've just come home from yet another perfect stay at this wonderful hotel. I was a hotelier for thirty seven years and only wish I could have been as good at it as these people.
The hotel runs like a swan, even if there is lots going on below the surface it's always smooth and elegant on the surface. The...

Another review – thank you so much! We really value your comments and I am delighted you continue to enjoy your visits. By the way, I had to look up the difference between a Laconium (which we have in our new Spa) and a Tepidarium! It appears that the former is “a dry heat treatment room, cooler...

Recommended by 'regulars'. we visited in last week of March in the beautiful sunshine. With a sea-facing, balconied room to which our dog was welcome, it is a superb 4-star hotel. The (slightly old fashioned) requirement for jackets in the restaurant was really nice, and just a pity that some men thought that it was then appropriate to immediately hang...

I am delighted you enjoyed your first visit to the Thurlestone and glad you had good weather. The dress code in the main restaurant is at the request of the majority of our guests who, like you, consider it adds to the ambience. Do come back again soon and sample the delights of the new Spa, opening in...

Fabulous location, Friendly staff, Great restaurant, lovely views good walks, pub next door, even dog friendly. We were possibly the youngest by 2 generations, but perhaps they know a thing or two.
Be aware that dogs are not allowed on the Golf course, the cliff walks are exactly that, so ensure your dog or children respond, and keep away from...

We "returned" to Thurlestone after a few years away now to find it as good as ever although a bit disppointing that the indoor Pool was closed for refurbishment. This was advised in the booking confirmation. We were a little late in booking but were given a Premier Sea View Room up on the 3rd floor which was excellent all...

Dear John Wetherill,
Welcome back! Thank you, in particular, for your kind words about the staff. I always pass on visitors’ comments and yours will be very gratefully received. I’m sorry about the indoor pool but I hope you will return after June to see our wonderful new Spa. We look forward to seeing you again.
Best wishes, Julie Baugh,...
