The room I had was lovely and big, loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. The breakfast was OK but I was bitterly disappointed with the spa facilities. No treatments were available, both saunas weren't working, the steam room door was impossible to open and the pool was freezing!! More

Great location, great building, outside was beautiful and the area was lovely. Shame it has been given up on. We had a great deal through secret escapes and paid £99 for the night and breakfast (breakfast was fine, not amazing but plenty to eat) if I had paid more I would have been seriously annoyed. The pool was ok, both... More

Have just returned from a weekend at The Springfield and I can say I have never been so disappointed. We booked this break throughout secret escapes was a little worried about some of the reviews we had read but decided to give it a go. When we arrived it looked beautiful from outside in a lovely position just outside of... More

I stayed here as a friend was getting married at Lulworth Castle. I looked on trip advisor and knew it was a mistake before I had even got there. It was much worse than I anticipated. The room was small, the carpet was covered in dog hair. There were squashed bugs on the ceiling. No full length mirror. One of... More

Its clean and that's about it. Everything is very dated. The evening meal was ok but the breakfast was awful. More

This gloomy hotel does depressing lunches. The place was completely deserted (always a bad sign), no staff in the restaurant, the chap behind the bar turned out to be an engineer. All the beers were cask, none of them were working. Ham, egg and chips consisted of underheated chips and some ham, which wouldn't even make it into the Tesco... More

I have stayed in the springfield hotel on a number of occasions and a warm welcome from the reception staff is always given. The rooms are a good standard and have all the usual things required by most guests. There is a indoor pool and gym facilities which are to a good standard. The hotel is set within well maintained... We booked with Secret Escapes, and at £89 a night the executive room was good value. It was spacious, comfortable, clean, with an enormous bathroom with bath made for two (and separate shower, underfloor heating), a balcony which would have been useful if it wasn't raining all the bloody time. Breakfast was a little meagre but good quality nonetheless. Ok,... More

The facilities at this hotel are very good. Potentially this could be a first class establishment. It is a pity the staff let the hotel down by lack of customer focus. It is also a shame that management are failing to keep standards at a higher level. The reception is gloomy and our initial welcome was a bit half hearted.... More
