We booked a 2 night break here with our dog and stayed in the dovecote. From the warm welcome to the delicious food and very comfortable rooms, everything with this hotel is faultless. There are too many good points to mention, but take the time to visit this place- it will not disappoint. Although not cheap, we left thinking we... More

A perfect blend of very warm hospitality from the hosts, excellent facilities and amazing food on a beautiful Scottish island makes this place very hard to beat. Having known about this place for a number of years, it was only recently that I had the chance to visit with my wife. The hotel is located in a quiet and tranquil... More

I stayed with friends at the hotel over a weekend and cannot fault the management or staff in any way. This is a hotel where you are given a genuine welcome at the outset particularly by Helen the manageress. The accomodation was first class and was more than equalled by the quality and presentation of the food/. All in all... More

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to write such a positive review. We really enjoyed meeting you and your friends and it's great to hear that you enjoyed Kilmichael equally as much. We will have to buy Helen a new hat after your generous praise - it will certainly go to her head! It was such... More

Gorgeous setting, charming and very welcoming host, impeccable service, superb rooms - comfortable, luxuriously appointed and spotlessly clean. However the food was the best part - not only divinely delicious but beautifully presented. We felt a bit as though we were visiting a fine country house or palace in the 1930's - absolutely delightful! The acme of elegance, refinement and... More

We stayed at Kilmichael for a Friday and Saturday night, both of us being in dire need for a bit of R&R for a variety of reasons. It was just awesome from the first moment we set eyes on it; driving up the drive, with one of the peacock's tail in full display, hens sitting on the doorstep, we just... More

What an excellent surprise; visiting Arran for the third year and then staying in such a beautiful 'home' and splendid surroundings! It was a 'warm' welcome by Geoffrey, a lovely stay in a superb room > the Dovecote. Lovely, sweet staff, excellent food by Antony. We'll certainly come back! More

Thank you so much for your review. We are particularly pleased that you enjoyed watching Mumtaz and her family in the courtyard. She's already planning a new nest by the look of her. We hope you'll get chance to come back and see her new family!!! More

On a last minute trip to Arran and a last minute search for an old-fashioned, romantic, hotel with a working fire place and a good gin & tonic booked Kilmichael. Found exactly that. More

A lovely place: we had a bedroom, sitting room, and two bathrooms -- comfortably furnished with sofas, hi-fi, and a small decanter of whisky. From there we were just a staircase away from the more formal hotel drawing room where drinks and canapes are served with great panache. Thereafter the set menu for dinner was for each of our three... More

Thank you so much for your splendid review of Kilmichael. Rastislav and Imrich were most tickled to think of themselves on 'the poop deck of the Queen Mary', but we're pleased to note that you didn't find the atmosphere stuffy, which is just as it should be . More

when we set out for an island in scotland we jokingly said wouldn't it be perfect if we found a little hide away place with big open fires, a drawing room where we could snuggle up with a book if it was absolutely awful outside, have pre dinner drinks as if we were in the comfort of our own home,...
