The location is lovely in a tranquil valley just a few miles west of Aberfeldy and right beside one of the oldest trees in Britain - a venerable 5,000 year-old yew. Our reasonably-sized bedroom (Bolfracks) at the rear of the hotel had a dual aspect and was tastefully and well furnished, mainly in soft greens/beiges, with two leather tub chairs,... More

A "quick 15 km detour" ended with us arriving after 9 p.m., hungry, tired and a bit disappointed in missing what was probably a very scenic drive through the western part of Scotland (we'll just have to go back)... Although the kitchen was closed, the wonderful staff of the Yew readied some delicious butternut squash soup and a few much... More

This hotel is tucked away in a glen near Aberfeldy, at the southern edge of the Highlands. The hotel itself is superb, well-laid-out with spacious rooms, a number of communal rooms with log fires, an excellent restaurant and a small, intimate bar that also has a good menu. The staff are amazingly professional, well-trained, attentive and thoughtful (gave us a... More

Party of eight cyclists, had burgers and fish and chips for lunch. Despite being muddy took off shoes and ate at a low table in the library as bar was busy. Only complaint a poor ale selection (Belhaven Best and Belhaven IPA). More

We have just returned from a very short break staying at a nearby steading. We visited the Hotel a couple of times - with our dog and 2 children - and were made to feel very welcome. The ambience and fire are excellent. A special mention to the young Australian girl who served us. The food was very good. My... More

We have stayed on several occasions at this hotel, most recently a special offer in January. The hotel is in a lovely area. Inside the public areas are great to relax in, whether beside the fire for pre dinner drinks, in the bay window for scones and tea or in the library across the way for after dinner coffee. The... Would recommend this hotel. Well decorated; clean; warm and comfortable; easy access; good internet connection (use mobile in the car park); excellent service (ask for milk in room); good food; well appointed public rooms. But also recommend looking to do a deal on the price - the list price is a little expensive. More

We booked Fortingall Hall for one night just to get away. We managed to get it on a last minute deal (at 11am that morning) so the price was a quarter of the regular price. So my mark on price is based on that. Regular room at £200 is completely out of my budget, but keep an eye out for... More

We had the pleasure of staying at the hotel on the evening of the 31st Dec 2011. I cannot fault the staff or the service we received, nothing was too much trouble. The evening was reasonable in cost given the night in question. The location is absolutely stunning and if you want a stunning drive head out from the hotel... More

This bespoke Scottish country hotel is nestled in at the foot of Glen Lyon, generally regarded as the finest glen in Scotland. We experienced perfect service, wonderful food with all requests discreetly catered for. We only stayed for one night, which is clearly not enough. We'll be back! More
