Comfortable bed with ensuite bath/shower overhead. No central heating in the room so I'm glad it wasn't later in the year. No tv in the room so if that's important to you take note. Good breakfast choice.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while on holiday in Scotland.
The hotel is comfortable and well maintained. It is almost in the centre of Strathpeffer, just up the hill from the town square. It is a small hotel with around half a dozen rooms and is mercifully free of the coach tour trade that dominates most of...

Strathpeffer is a lovely highland spa village, in a glorious setting which is often host to a few coach tour operators similar to other Spa towns south of the border. Staying here you dont notice the coach trips though.
The Richmond is a charming building full of character, with warm welcoming hosts who focus on making their guests welcome. The...

This place has a slightly shabby appearance, but is absolutely charming - probably the best place I stayed during a ten-day tour of Scotland. Everything was clean, there was a very calm air about the place, and the owners could not have been more helpful. I was even asked what consistency I wanted for my breakfast porridge.... you can't ask...

I had the opportunity to stay at the Richmond for 3 nights. My friends and some other family stayed in the bigger hotels near by. I would have to say that Jeremy and Heather made us feel very welcome and catered for all our requirements. (A wedding party can be very demanding!!)
The larger hotel bars closed up at around...

The richmond hotel is one of the best places i have ever stayed!
Jeremy and Heather were two of the nicest and most accomidating people I have ever come across.
I stayed in the hotel for my sisters wedding, the rooms were massive for getting ready in and were spotless.
The beds were lovely and comfortable, even the bunkbeds!
The...

Don't let first appearances deceive you as the signage and the exterior of the hotel are not indicative of what you will find inside. The host, Jeremy Fitch is charming and very accommodating and the hotel rooms are spacious, clean and furnished appropriately for this Victorian era hotel. From the moment that we entered the hotel, Jeremy made us feel...

I stayed at the Richmond for a friends wedding but unfortunately it was a disappointment. Location wise it was lovely, breakfast was ok but the hall on the first floor absolutely stank of stale smoke. The room was ok but small but the bathing facilities were dreadful. No shower, only a shower head connected to the taps and no hot...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Richmond Hotel for a night while attending a wedding in Strathpeffer, and we both really enjoyed it. The hotel itself is lovely - we had a large room with great views, a big bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The room was very clean with crisp linen and fresh towels, and the breakfast...

Food: Not good, Large portions but of things you could easily cook at home. My thai curry was just a bog standard chicken curry. Soup far too salty. Breakfast was ok but lacked something. Restaurant freezing with no atmosphere.
Room: Absolutely freezing when we arrived. Not enough towels. No soap in the bathroom! Single beds tiny. Could not get an...
