We'd first stayed in April 2010 and returned this year because we liked the welcome, the feeling of relaxation and the informality. Rigg Cottage is set on a hillside in tranquil surroundings with wonderful views. It is all we would expect of a reasonably priced B&B - a friendly welcome, comfortable rooms, a good breakfast and home baking with a... More

I was delighted to welcome you and your party back again, and now it`s a pleasure to thank you for placing such a favourable review. I hope the steam trains will continue to bring you back to Scotland, and to this B&B, for many more years. Best wishes to you all. More

We cycled National Cycle Route 7 from Carlisle to Glasgow staying at a different B&B every night and Rigg cottage was easily the most welcoming of them all. Kate was fantastic! She welcomed us into her home, provided somewhere safe to store the bikes, advised us on places to eat and other places to stay on our route. The room... More

What a wonderful review, thanks a million! I enjoyed meeting you both and have to confess to feeling envious when I waved you off on the next stage of your Route 7 cycle-trip, taking you over the Carrick Hills on a day when you`d have fantastic views of Aran ahead of you. I do appreciate you taking time to submit... More

We stayed for two nights and loved it. The location is secluded and very quiet but within easy reach of all local attractions. We felt most welcome in Kate's home and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The breakfasts were excellent. A great find. More

I stayed at Rigg Cottage for one night on my way home from a business trip in Glasgow. Kate was the perfect host and welcomed me in to sit by the fire while she finished making my lovely dinner. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night's sleep in this quiet location. My ensuite room had a... More

A warm welcome for 5 tired cyclists with tea and cake set the tone for a homely and comfortable stay. We were able to use the dining room as our sitting room and played cards in the evening. The double bedroom we had was delightful with a view of the surrounding countryside and a recently refurbished en-suite.Our evening meal was... More

I stayed 2 nights whist fishing in the area ( I can recommend Loch Bradan, which is a short drive away if you like trout fishing!). Kate is a very welcoming host and cooks a lovely breakfast. It`s the start of the new season, which reminded me of your stay here when you fished at Loch Bradan. Thank you for the great review, hope you might come back for some local (on permit) fly fishing this time. More
