Without doubt, the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The fabric of the building is poor, fixtures & furnishings are damaged, tired and shabby. The room & dining room were dirty. From the main street approaching the hotel, there was a noticeable smell of stale cooking oil. There was mould in the bathroom. The hot tap in the hand basin... More

The hotel is conveniently located for touring Skye or as a stopover heading for the Western Isles Ferry. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful but the rooms could do with a good bit redecoration. The food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced and the morning buffet breakfast very good. The night we spend here... More

There is nothing wrong with a hotel that takes coach parties, but the receptionist at this hotel acted as though he didn't know how to treat someone who was checking in as an individual. In the folder in the room it stated that people should dress smart/ casual for dinner; you would therefore expect to get a semi-decent menu, but... More

We are just back from a four night break at the Donollie Hotel. We were on a coach trip (which was amazing) we were with a great group of people and had a brilliant coach driver in Tam. I would go on a coach trip as you see a lot more (and a few white knuckle rides up the mountains!!!... More

This island of Skye is definitely unashamably commercial by standards unless going seriously off road so to speak, and experience of travel here over many years has given me the impression it is just geared to a fast moving tourist trade, perhaps for survival? This hotel was chosen from the net to satisfy a need for accommodation overnight there on... More

Thank you for your recent comments following your stay. I’m afraid the layout of the building is out of our control and any disabled guests can be accommodated for dinner and breakfast in the lounge on the ground level so no-one misses out. On a postive note, I am happy that your found our receptionist to be friendly and helpful... More

This hotel has great potential, if only some money was spent on refurbishment. It is in a stunning location overlooking the sea. We stayed here for four nights as part of a coach tour. On three of those days we had no hot water in room, many of the guests had the same problem. On the first day we were... More

Having looked back at older reviews i noticed that the management, always reply with the same feedback i think its about time they practice what they preach!!!!.If you are going to rectify the problems do so.They here what people are saying but as the hotel is geared to the coach party groups, they are happy to fill them in and take... Dear Previous Guest, Firstly I must express my concern with your comment regarding the same responses being posted. I have to explain to users that there is an on-going refurbishment programme and the progress may be slower than first anticipated due to the current financial climate. I have rectified the cigarette issue you experienced with appropiate action. We honour our... More

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and regretted every minute of it. The hotel looks old, the entrance was untidy. The manager was helpful checking us in and when asked for a pub nearby sent us to the pub next door, which is in the same state as the hotel, which is not surprising because it is owned... More

The place is a bit soulless and I imagine the bus tour trade is what it survives on. My room was warm enough with the electric heater on, however there was no TV signal, so no TV, no radio or radio alarm, and no telephone. There is also no wifi and no mobile phone signal, which seemed common on Skye.... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your comments. The televisions were down due to the storm on the 30th December and we were unable to get an engineer out on new years eve. Wifi is about to be installed at the hotel in the near future as for phone signal this is outwith our control. There is a planned refurbishment programme... More
