As this was our first time in Skye, I thought I would treat my girlfriend to a birthday dining experience at the Three Chimneys. After hearing so many good reviews I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. The setting was idealic, with lovely scenery and was just what we needed after a few days of walking the hills and seeing... Having just returned from the Three Chimneys after spending my 50th birthday there as a special treat from my husband. Well where to start, we arrived on the Saturday and were given a lovely warm welcome. We were shown to our room and offered afternoon tea (which was home cooked blueberry muffins yum...). The first night we had the set... More

The main reason for our visit was to try the food in the restaurant as it had come highly recommended and, for convenience, we booked a night in the rooms over by. When we arrived the sun was shining so we had a couple of pre-dinner drinks outside overlooking the loch in very peaceful surroundings. The dinner itself was fantastic... More

The restaurant was gourmet. Very interesting menu. The food was excellent but over priced. The over by the bay bed and breakfast was fabulous. The service was excellent, the people were lovely and the rooms were very comfortable.

We had been here twice before, on both occasions for lunch so celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary gave us the excuse for having dinner. We were staying at Dornie on the mainland so the return journey was 2hrs 35min but the 3 hrs 30 min spent in the restaurant was well worth the effort. We had planned to eat off... More

We booked for a meal at the Three Chimneys on my doctor's recommendation. The meal was lovely... however our Maitre D' appeared bored in his descriptions of the food and wine, furthermore the waitress turned away from us before she had finished mumbling her rehearsed speech each time she visited our table. I even heard our Maitre D' tell a diner... More

I took my wife for a special meal on her 50th birthday. The menu is simple; either the "tastes of Skye and Lochalsh" 7 course taster menu. Or a more standard three course menu. The former was £90 per head, the later £60. We had the taster menu and were not disappointed. Each course was quite small, as you'd expect,... More

We had heard so many good reports on this restaurant we were almost concerned that it would not be as good as the reports had said! However we can say it was a great dining experience and worth at least one visit if not many more. Also if you need a taxi home then ask them to book Rab and... More

I returned here after 13 years. I thought the standard of accommodation was good but overpriced for what it is. A Splendid afternoon tea was served with delicious cakes. The correspondence before we arrived was great and very prompt. However during the night after eating in the restaurant I was violently sick, I went to the reception in the middle... More
