I wasn't planning on writing a review on this hotel but after reading the recent comments, I feel it necessary to give my opinion. My friends and I visited this hotel summer of 2011. It was a terrible disappointment, such beautiful surroundings but a run down uncomfortable hotel with very unfriendly staff. We arrived at night and walked through a... More

We were curious about this hotel as the reviews were quite mixed. We absolutely enjoyed our stay (2 nights) in the sea facing family room. The room heating was left on for us when we arrived which was very considerate. The hotel owner and staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, described the places for us to go around and... We had the pleasure of staying here for three nights last month and I can honestly say we would stay again at the drop of a hat. Good food, hospitality, views and rooms. Reading some of the negitive reviews on here I can only think these people are living in a parallel universe, where people dont have the bottle to... More

The hotel is in the most beautiful location, the view is priceless. The building itself however, instantly makes you feel depressed. It is so unloved and gives the impression that the owners really do not want visitors. We did venture into the bar as beer was needed. We stood therefore for a good five minutes before there was movement in... More

Stayed here for 2 nights, was welcomed by a roaring open fire in the bar on what was a bitterly cold and wet day upon arival... The owners were very friendly, had fish and chips the first night, the fish had just been caught that day and could not have been fresher or nicer (Or bigger)... Great views out of... More

Stopped here for afternoon tea whilst travelling round Skye and thought we'd stepped into a 70s time warp. The decor is very shabby and outdated, loos desparately in need of some TLC (the most garish yellow walls I've ever seen). Tea was good but served in battered old stainless steel tea pots on a dirty and stained tray. Views from... More

Arriving on Saturday afternoon after a long drive, we were looking forward to staying in a comfortable hotel with good food . However the beer selection was mediocre considering that there are excellent breweries on Skye and roundabout, which would add to the selection. The food was of mixed quality , the steak & ale pie was reasonable , the... More

I had never been to the Isle Of Skye before so was unsure what to expect. The hotel is in a very picturesque location with stunning views over the sea to Harris & Lewis. The hotel is run by a friendly and courteous family and I am looking forward to my next visit in November this year I would recommend... More

Never again! I have been surprised by many of the previous reviews as I found this hotel to be about as bad as it is as possible to be. I have stayed here several times before - about six years ago was the latest. Then the hotel was well run, welcoming and a pleasant place to stay. Today, sadly, I... More

The property needs work but the bar and the welcome were warm, the room was clean and comfortable, the view was absolutely spectacular and the food was fine. The host is informative and friendly and while this is not the heart of tourism on Skye, it is a brilliant place to get away from all of that, right up on... More
