Christine was nice but had a bit of an edge-- no matter- great cooking and we didn't spend much time there. LOVED the Tartan themes in main and our room. Great decorating and felt very SCOTTISH, which was desired. She had a common lounge room for guests which was a great idea- but we never had time to take advantage.... More

My thanks to Christine for always being a good host. I have been a guest at her B&B over a dozen times over the years, and I always felt comfortable. The B&B has nice features, and the breakfast is simply breath taking! I appreciate Christine as she is always kind, but never intrusive. And yet, when it mattered (for example... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was such a nice stay! Breakfast is great! Many options and the owner helps you in an way (i.e- gluteen free diet.) I got the room n.2. The room is clean, quite big for a b&b, bathroom very spacious with ensuite shower, tv set, tea making set and lots of choices (malt, hot... More

We have had little experience of B and Bs but if they are all like this then we would have no complaints. OK, so the decor is a bit stuck in the 70s but it's all been recently done. Our room was in better nick, better equipped and cleaner than the Swallow hotel, Carlisle, where we stopped off on the... More

I have to agree with some of the other reviews that refer to Mrs MacFarlane as the 'Headmistress', not a 'hello', just rules fired at us, and a 'follow me to your room'. The room was nice, beds comfortable, but she had definitely had the 4-star checklist! I wouldn't even say the breakfast is as good as others said it... More

Warm welcome from Christine, immaculately clean room, everything you need in room and more. Breakfast was amazing, every diet, taste catered for. Porridge with Baileys was great and the Smoked Mackeral was even better. More

The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was fairly comfortable and the breakfast was great. Only criticism was that the room felt quite hot and and felt a bit like a sauna during the night. A bit of a walk to town but Portree is a lovely place and we didn't mind the walk except if it's raining,... More

Four of us stayed at this B & B for two nights. We couldn't fault it. The beds were very comfortable, the showers were efficient and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Towels were replaced daily. There is a large lounge with a television. We sampled all the breakfast options between us and the breakfast was really great, with plenty... More
