I have eaten here a quite few times it's generally been okay which is a shame because it used to be very good. Its change hands again so we thought we would give it a try, we soon regretted that decision. On arrival we were seated by a young friendly girl who took our drinks order and left our menus... More

For over 10 years our car club have held the AGM at this hotel. The staff were always pleasant enough but the quality of the food was not good and for several years I always used to have a good breakfast, then wait until I was back home before eating again. Knowing the hotel though had a change of management... More

Staff were friendly and helpful and showed me to my room no problem. They informed me of breakfast times and meal serving times correctly. When I went down to the bar for a drink I informed the bar maid i would like something to eat and they politely handed me the menu and told me of the specials of that... More

I checked into the Ythan Hotel for 1 night on 2nd March 2013 and on checking in was told breakfast would be served between 8.00 & 10.00 AM. I went up to my room which was neat and tidy and left my overnight case. I went down to the lounge bar for a drink and was told there was nobody... More

Decided to give this Hotel a try whilst up in the area and despite reading all the remarks about it on Tripadvisor and other sites, we actually enjoyed our stay. Yes I totally agree that it requires money to be spent on it in order to update it but we had a very comfortable and warm room and the bed... More

WIfe & I arrived for dinner, only one other person in the restaurant. Ordered sarter & mains, waitress took order, obviously not trained. Main meals arrived, then starter arrived one minute later, the starter was returned. Only saving grace was that it was a decent steak. Overall a very poor experience.

When we booked this hotel we were looking for a dog friendly one. They new we were coming with a dog but when we arrived we were told the dog would not be allowed in the restaurant in the evenings or in the breakfast room so every morning we had to eat breakfast on our own while the partner sat... Very tired and frayed at the edges this hotel is in need of some tlc. The position is great being close to Newburgh golf club and the Ythan estuary with it's fine beach and seal colony.Total lack of atmosphere in dining room/bar and dinner was disapointing but breakfast made up for this. Curtains were very thin and allowed light to... More

The first and last time I stay at this hotel. The bed is the most uncomfortable I have ever tried to sleep on. Every spring can be felt - the bed and room decor were probably last updated 15 years ago. Light in bathroom not working, extractor fan not working...... the list goes on.
