We traveled up to Ardanaiseig for a long weekend away from our busy lives in London. Having chosen to go in November for my birthday, we were excepting the worst in terms of the weather but arrived to a light that gave everything a magical feel, the hotel, the woods and the loch. It did rain but we were prepared... More

I brought my wife to the Ardanaiseig Hotel earlier in the year for a 3 day break from the hustle and bustle of London. Some Friends of mine had visited the Ardanaiseig the previous year and told us we had to go! They did not stop talking about what an incredible time they had and how beautiful the Hotel and... More

3 Days ago I surprised my girlfriend of 7 years by arriving at our home with a VW Campervan and taking her on a mystery trip to the West of Scotland. After many hours of driving through the stunning countryside and woodlands we arrived at the Ardanaiseig Hotel. We were staying in the Boat Shed, which is a 1 bedroom... More

The first thing to note, and this is probably one of the very few positive things I have struggled to find about this property is that the access road whilst it is single track actually has a far better road surface – in many places as it has very recently been replaced – than most other roads in Scotland so... There are many good things about this hotel. The setting is wonderful, and although it is a long way from the main road we saw this as a plus - it was so peaceful and quiet. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, no problems at all. However we had booked the hotel partly because of the reputation of... More

Stayed with a group for a friend's wedding. The wedding was beautiful, and the location provided stunning views and a setting that would be amazing all year round. However the rooms seem a bit tired and dated. More chintzy than stylish. The food was great for a special day, but to only have a set menu on all the time... More

Absolutely stunning country house hotel right on the shore of Loch Awe. Though some features may have seen better days, the view across the loch alone pushes these into far into the background. Staff are attentive, friendly and courteous. Food and drink excellent and reasonably priced, especially with the mid-week 3 for 2 deal. The combination of the loch view,... More

The place to go for a couple in love. Very good food, Oban and its whiskies (and sea food) within driving distance, a lake to drive around or boat on, and if you do drive to the other side, have a look at the litlle chapel. The Black Campbells had it built and boated to the chapel from what is... More

This is now our third trip to the Ardanaiseig hotel only this time we were here to get married. The first trip (June 2012) was part of a wedding shortlist – it turned out to be an extremely short list as we fell in love with the place and, as a result, didn’t bother with any others. The second trip... More
