The commodore guesthouse in Bute is an excellent spot, central on the island, nice people running it. The rooms are fine, we stayed in the cottage, nicely spaced. The breakfast was splendid, we liked the haggis, black pudding and other ingredients, it keeps us going all day.

this is the nicest place to go for a holiday. hazel and harry are great people and the cottage was brilliant Will definately be going back. This the best place to go if you like a nice relaxing holiday great views and all rothesay people are very helpful as my wife is disabled

We were visiting Bute to see my grandfather's recently erected headstone,booked ahead and found the front opened by the owner.From that time on he and his wife were nothing but helpful. Thanks very much for an enjoyable two nights in your guesthouse. The weather was snowy and cold but the welcome was warm!! The room was warm and clean with everything we needed and breakfast was delicious. We would definatelly stay there again if we venture over to Bute again, but perhaps in Summer.
