We selected Sheildaig Farm as it was away from the maddening crowd of Balloch.!! And in that respect it met our every wish... Our host Lesley was charming, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. You could tell she really cared that her guests had the best possible stay at her home. Her attention to details was a real... More

We stayed at sheildaig farm for 4 nights over the Easter bank holiday weekend. Lesley accommodated our late arrival and gave us the choice of 2 rooms, offering us a better room than the one we had picked! We stayed in the 'Lindsay' room which was accessed from the courtyard rather than inside the house. It had a lovely double... More

Having spent ages trying to find a really nice B&B near Glasgow Airport, we were really pleased when we found Sheildaig Farm's website which is very impressive. However, when we turned off the roundabout on the A82 and drove about 2 miles up a very bumpy track in the dark, we were a little shocked as this had not been... More

I was sorry to read your disappointment with some of the points in your review and wanted you to know that I can understand that when travelling and arriving in the dark it can be a little daunting coming up the the half mile or so of unmettalled road from the main road. During the day when customers see the... More

Nice B & B, with (as stated above) a great breakfast! Lesley was great, loads of local info for day trips, restaurants, etc. We stayed in the Cameron room. It was good, as it had it's own private entry next to the drive, no sneaking in after a late night! Although there are no windows, the room is bright due... More

Thank you for your review, I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast, it is always good to have a big breakfast to keep you going for the day and there are so many lovely places locally to eat as you found out that our customers are spoilt for choice. The views are stunning and different every day depending on the weather... More

Sorry to say but this B& B did not deliver on almost every level.......road to it a nightmare(just glad we did not have fancy expensive vehicle). Room much smaller than appeared with no windows therefore no view(velux times 2 but !) The most awful showers I have ever encountered & the smell of the oilfilled radiator in the tiny bathroom... Stayed a week at Sheildaig. Only wish was that we could have stayed longer! Lesley is a wonderful warm hostess, very attentive and a great source of information and a fantastic sense of humour. Very important and rarely commented on in peoples reviews. Our room was in the main house with an ensuite shower and sole use of a bathroom... More

Four adults (2 rooms) stayed for 3 nights 23rd to 26th August 2012. Beautiful setting and location, it is no big deal getting to the farm in your car and is very easy to find. What a hidden gem! The rooms are lovely and have the added bonus of microwave, kettle and fridge. The beds were really comfortable with spotless... More

Had a lovely stay for two nights at Shieldaig. Lesley and other staff were very friendly and the breakfast was yummy. We ended up in Glasgow unexpectedly during the day, if we'd have thought about it before-hand we'd have planned to go there for an evening meal as there is a late train back to Balloch. Room slightly smaller than... More

We recently stayed at Sheildaig Farm for one night on our way to a family party. The house is gorgeous, situated in beautiful countryside just five minutes from Loch Lomond. We were made to feel very welcome by the host, Lesley and our room was pleasant, easily big enough for the three of us. We will definitely be back.
