From the beautiful room to the excellent breakfast this place cannot be faulted. Lynn has the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism, add in fish and chips to die for, a wonderful view and a lovely relaxed atmosphere, what more could you ask for?

We highly recommend the Old Smiddy. We booked it for 2 nights based on reading the reviews here, and were not disappointed. The rooms, while small, were comfortable and cute. Breakfast was delicious (choice of a la carte or Scottish breakfast). We ate in the restaurant both nights (Lynn very kindly made a reservation for us even though the restaurant... More

The best service we have ever had. Good food, excellent rooms , and mike & lyn make you feel at home. Do not book anywhere else if you want to stay in Killin. We had originally booked at the falls but found it very unwelcoming so phoned the old smiddy and Lynn saved the day . Will definetly be back.

We had an excellent group meal for 30+ people to celebrate a final Munro weekend for a couple of friends in May. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meal we had was very good too and efficiently served despite having such a large group all together.

I stayed at The Old Smiddy a few weeks ago. The owner was extremely helpful when I made the booking. We were arriving late and they reserved a table for us in the restaurant. Great to arrive, get organised and just go downstairs for food. Great views from window table to the falls of dochart. The meal was very good... More

The Ruby Room is a bit on the bijou side. However, it was clean and very well presented. People of large build may struggle in the bathroom. There are lovely views of the river from the window. Breakfast - either continental or cooked. If both there is a £4 supplement. The continental includes a lovely freshly prepared fruit salad (including... More

I just returned home from a two night stay in Killin with a friend, and although exhausted from hiking and sampling whisky I am very happy with my visit. I called the B&B the day before our arrival to see if they had any free rooms, and lucky for us their family room was available. Michael was very helpful on... More

Chose the old smiddy for dinner as it was the no 1 in killin according to the reviews on trip advisor. We were late but that was no problem - food was fantastic and service was excellent. Then next day Michael and Lynn did us a huge favour which helped us on our way with our cycle trip. I cannot... More

We spotted the Fish and Chips sign when driving into Killin and returned to track this down later only to find a great little bistro with rooms. We were staying in our caravan but had forgotten to pack towels. Even though we weren't staying we were offered towels for the weekend so we reserved a table for the following evening.... More

We booked this great little place after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and were delighted. Super bijoux room overlooking the falls with a comfy bed, a decent dinner menu for hill walkers and some interesting whiskeys to sample! Very friendly husband and wife team who really do have a thriving business. I asked about gluten free options and would... More
