I am not sure how many words I get to review this place but I am sure it will not be enough. We had been recommended the Monachyle Mhor by a chef friend, so we had high expectations before we even got there. Thankfully we were not disappointed. Arriving, we were met by "Minti", who had previously been extremely helpful... More

If you have ever been somewhere wonderful in France and wondered why we can't have this in Scotland, your wait is over . I don't understand why or care a toot that it doesn't have a Michelin star. I would give it three . One for the fantastic wholesome local produce that is sourced and grown with total passion before... More

We stay here a few times each year. Our last stay was not our best - lumpy mattress, fag ends outside our room, dirty carpet in the bathroom and broken blinds all gave the room a tired feel and not what we have come to expect from this place. Dinner was too minimalist for us so we felt compelled to... More

Let's face it. Most of us who send in reviews of places like M M are not super wealthy bankers or property tycoons and spending £300+ for a night out is not a weekly indulgence. So when we do have a splurge we want to be spoiled, coddled, flattered a wee bit and we want to feel special. We want... More

We stayed in room 9 in the courtyard and the room was stunning. It had a huge en-suite bathroom with enormous double bath and monsoon shower as well as a steam room. Our evening meal was absolutely superb and I would say at a comfortable pace of appx 2 hours. Other reviews complain of the time taken and I would... More

Stayed with friends over a weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This hotel is situated in highland Scotland and yet is only a 2 1/2 hour drive from Edinburgh. Location is along the shoreline of a loch within a dead end glen therefore if peace and tranquility are for you then they do not come quieter than this. Staff were... More

My partner and I stayed for 1 night for his birthday in Feb. The food was excellent as was the very relaxed, friendly service. Our waiter recommended a wine and it was fabulous. The room was comfortable - best points were a fantastic bath with cool ambient lighting and a sumptious furry throw on the huge bed. Only drawbacks were... More

My partner and I took advantage of a 'special deal' recently and found the hotel and staff so welcoming and fun to be around. We both had a much appreciated cuppa and divine Carrot Cake on arrival. We then decided to go for a saunter to walk it off and was joined by one of the owners three gorgeous dogs... More

I stayed here with my wife last Sunday. It was an excellent break away from our hectic lives! The location of the hotel is fantastic, what a beautiful drive alongside the loch as you approach the hotel. We stayed in a feature room with our own steam room and large bath! The food was also superb, both at dinner and... More
