We booked on a three-day arrangement for dinner, bed and breakfast at a reduced rate as we only expected to take two courses at dinner. The trip was a stroll down memory lane for us, as we had holidayed here many years ago with a previous owner, when our children were young. We were kindly accommodated in the family room... More

Recently booked a three night deal for diner bed and breakfast, with a recommendation for options in the menu, because one of us suffers from lactose allergy. Positives: Breakfast was good - although breakfast lady could improve the image with a softer approach. Negatives: No reception in the hotel, but found that a friendly gentleman working in the bar could... More

We had a great few days at this hotel. When you go away for a wee break together, just the two of you, truth is you often realise quite quickly (well 2 days is enough for us) that the two of you are better off with a bit of opt-in company to keep things going. It's really the change of... More

Hi Diane - Thanks again for looking after us when we were back with you last week. As always we were made to feel very welcome and totally at home. We really count on our trip up to Portpatrick in early February to re-charge our batteries after a busy time of the year for us in our own business over... More

What a wonderful location for a hotel, superb sea views from an elevated position. The bad news is that that is the only positive in this review. My wife and I were booked in for one night (Saturday) prior to catching the NI ferry the following morning. Another reason for our stay was to allow us the opportunity to dine... More

Stayed overnight in this hotel, had read reviews that food was good however did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the quality of food other than the cooked breakfast which was ok.Also service at breakfast was good. The hotel has a grubby air to it, front of house was non existent, started with trying to book it... More

We'd previously stopped in Portpatrick for dinner before catching the NI ferry and been pleasantly surprised so when we had time to spare on our latest trip we dropped in again. Mount Stewart Hotel was not our first choice (book next time!) and we were not encouraged by the rather crude condiment sets, sauce sachets and sticky-page menu, but it... More
