Close enough to Beale St. to walk but far enough away to be away from the noise and congestion of Beale St. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and incredibly helpful. CP is about five blocks away from Beale street but runs a shuttle service which has a friendly driver and is frequent. Hotel a tad dated but staff were very good and really helpful! Stayed for 2 nights in the crowne plaza. The hotel is good but offers not much "ambiance": comfortable beds, good showers but the airco was rather noisy so we had to turn it off. The hotel is within walking distance of Beale street (20min), but the Crowne provides a free shuttle service to anywhere in Memphis. Pool was still closed... More

CP is a bit North of the main attractions in downtown, so a long walk or "free" shuttle ride by the friendly CP staff are the options. Won this on hotwire, but definitely would not pay regular rate. Room was nice and beds comfy. Had room 618 facing pool. Enjoyed popcorn and free drinks in the lobby. Everything just kind of average. Long wait to check in with only one person at the "desk". They didn't want to honor my rate until the I emailed the manager later that night. Room was kind of small.
