As the title suggests this is the most difficult Trip Advisor review that we have written. The Golden Fleece ticks lots of boxes. Cosy, convivial atmosphere but the Snug suffers from bolt upright seating and an obviously electric fire. The Lounge is easy to get comfortable in but we don't like the TV constantly advertising the facilities. It's distraction we... More

Stayed here for 1 night for a roadtrip to Porthmadog. Fantastic location, beautiful surroundings. After speaking on the phone and asking to book room 3 precisely because of the 2 separate rooms and beds, I was very disappointed as we were shown to room 1 where 2 single beds made up as a double greeted us. As it was myself... More

Thank you for placing your review. First of all let me once again apologise that your room was made up as a double on your arrival. We had just taken on a new housekeeper and no being fully fluent in english she had misunderstood the booking, but as you say this was quickly rectified. The member of staff who booked... More

Always visit this pub when we holiday at our cottage in ffestiniog - the beer is great and atmosphere is fantastuic, particulary when there is a music night. If you like beer and good food, this is a must. The pub's a bit cramped but that just adds to the great atmosphere. More

Thank you for your lovely review, we are glad you enjoy the atmosphere at the fleece it is some thing we have worked very hard to create. Music nights are every Tuesday and if you play an instrument you are welcome to join in. We take the upmost care in sourcing our local ingredients and believe it contributes to the... More

Absolutely fabulous. Scrumptious food, pretty decor and be sure to sample the mushy peas! Delightful. Consider myself an amateur foodie, and would love to return. More

I do like your review title! Thank you. Glad you enjoyed your food, you mention that you are a foodie....... Compliments to the chef. A crowd of us had a fantastic meal in the bistro last night, Terrine of spring onion and chicken- beautiful, Sea Bass & Sirloin steak ,superb and what generous portion- more than enough for my farmer husband who always complains he never has enough and as for the chocolate orange cake he was floored and could... Came to the Golden Fleece for a drink but ended up staying for dinner and what a find!! Amazing fish & chips & beef pie, the garlic mushrooms were to die for! Children well catered for, they cleared their plates too. Roaring fire, hops hanging from the ceiling with twinkling lights added to the atmosphere. Brilliant! More

We stayed in room 2 of this old coaching inn in mid-february. The room was clean and comfortable with an en-suite shower room. It overlooked the village square. It was a welcome change to stay somewhere that gave you plenty of pillows and a comfy bed! We had an evening meal in the bar area and both the quality and... More
