We have just returned from a two night stay at the Castle Hotel in Ruthin and we cant praise the hotel and also Wetherspoons enough. From the booking in and staff to the decor and rooms plus the value it added up to a lovely break and we will certainly be returning in the near future Kirsten and Ian More

we first visited the castle on the 19th may and were really impressed with the decor and the way it has been renovated previously it was drab and felt dismal, now its just the opposite. the toilet facilities were exemplary as are all wetherspoons and the staff polite sadly our reservations were the meal we ordered , pasta with chicken... We stayed at this hotel mainly due to proximity to the castle for a wedding and was very impressed. The noise levels travel through the floors a little too much, but this doesn't matter when it's late enough to go to bed as the bar is quiet then. Beautifully decorated room and very handy car park. Excellent and friendly service.... More

We stayed for a couple of nights. The reception experience was good. The staff were very helpful when we had trouble connecting to the free WiFi. This seems to be an increasing problem at Wetherspoons in our experience. The room was nicely appointed and decorated. Shame there was only one chair. Guess they want you down in the bar, not... Just spent two nights at The Castle Hotel in the centre of Ruthin. Wonderful service and stunning room. Great decor. They put an extra bed in the room for our 6 year old daughter who was extremely impressed with the purple cushion (as well as pillows and feather/down duvet). Great bathroom with super Grohe shower. Room temperature controllable (we don't... More

An excellent makeover by Wetherspoons, whoever was involved in bringing this hotel up to such a good standard should be congratulated. It is in the centre of the town, and now brings the local community together with the additional bonus of the jobs it has created. We had a brilliant time and found the locals to be so friendly. The... More

I visited The Castle Hotel in Ruthin on the Saturday prior to Mother’s Day, the day when Wales won the six nations and it also happened to be Saint Patrick’s Day. We were a party of two adults and three children (Me [37], my step-dad [61], nephew [10], daughter [8] and son [2]) on our way back from visiting my... More

Loved this wethers , bar/restaurant area ambience & décor varies in each room , bedrooms modern & tastefully furnished , the downside are the windows , they are not soundproofed and can be draughty as they are original [listed?] More

The Castle hotel (not to be confused with Ruthin Castle ) has been recently refurbished by the Wetherspoons chain of pubs and hotels Its a very sympathetic refurbishment of a once grand hotel, restored to its former glory The food is of the typical Wetherspoon standard - cheap and cheerful - good value for money We ve eaten there 3... 1st visit was a few days after opened as Wetherspoons and it was very busy (Sat night) but the wait at the bar wasn't too bad considering. The place looks lovely & has a nice atmosphere. I have since been for food (Wed night) with friends & wasn't impressed but will give them the benefit of the doubt as not... More
