I was made to feel very welcome on arrival. Unfortunately my room was on the 2nd floor and there is no lift, but the receptionist/manager who showed me to my room did offer to help carry my case and was very apologetic so I didn't mind. The room is actually very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep, although... More

This was an average B&B run by a family. The decor is outdated and rooms very small. The evening menu is fantastic but the breakfast was horrid. Tin tomatoes, really cheap suasages. Extra comfort of DVDs in every room and a room full of DVDs (all copies). More

When I rang this hotel and asked what they could do they said they would not let out the whole hotel for two nights " in case of regulars" and would only let... More

I needed a very cheap room and i got it. I also got value for money. Its comfortable, lay back in a very convenient location. Ok the decor needs updating, but I didn't mind, even though I stay in really posh hotel in the UK and abroad for work.I think it had to the charm of the hotel and of... More

The staff were all very friendy and the room comfortable and clean. The decor could do with updating, but to be honest I wasn't looking for the Savoy. Breakfast was great. Very surprised at the negative reviews of the hotel - what on earth were you guys expecting for @£50 in Pencoed? More

The smell of deep fat fryers and cigarettes hits you on entry. The decor was tired and tatty and bizarre. I was given a twin room with possibly the most uncomfortable bed ever. The bathroom was so small you had to hop around the toilet to get in and out and it had somone elses' hair all over it. The... More

If daylight and sleep are important to you this is not the place to stay. The decor is tired but Ok (ish) and the one member of staff we encountered was friendly (think Basil Fawlty one man doing everything) I had three real issues with this place 1) Dark room due to the room having no real daylight just one...
