What a lovely experience! We stayed in the brick cottage and were not disappointed. The view the front window was incredibly picturesque. During our stay, a herd of kangaroos were grazing in the paddock while a lovely rainbow shone behind them. Greg, the proprietor "arranged it." ( : Greg also gave us a wonderful, informal tour describing the building of... More

Having stayed in the Redgum cottage as a couple 6 years ago we always said we wanted to return. After coming back to Australia after being home in Scotland for a few years we finally made it back at the start of April, this time with 2 of our friends (who live in New York) and stayed in the Stone... My husband & I recently stayed at the Pioneer Cottages located in the Grampians. As soon as we arrived to the property we immediately felt relaxed. The view is spectacular, and the property itself was a dream with kangaroos right in your backyard giving you that fresh country air feeling. The cottage itself was very cosy with a wonderful open... So good to hear you felt immediatly welcome & relaxed Mary. There's a warm welcome waiting for your next holiday too. Perhaps next time we'll see your mountain bike on the trails around here. I'll pass on your praise for cleanliness to the Cleaners, we really value their pride in quality workmanship. Thankyou. Cheers, Greg More

Stayed in the mud brick cottage and loved the fireplace and spiral staircase. The uniqueness of the cottage is fantastic, I especially liked the newspaper covered wall with so many interesting clippings. Very clean and includes everything needed; cooking utensils, hairdryer, electric blankets etc. Lovely place to stay with great views, privacy and kangaroos roaming in nearby paddocks.

Thankyou for your review. We're happy to hear you enjoyed 'reading' the wall. One elderly gentleman was excited to discover a very old article on a greyhound he used to follow at the track. We look forward to seeing you next time you're out from the UK, there will still be plenty of kangaroos & emu's entertaining you with their... More

Amazing place! Peaceful, beautiful sights, friendly service at the office. Overall, great weekend, very relaxing. Would recommend to couples and family. Kitchen was stocked with all basic/useful utensils. Even the fire place was prepped and ready to start a fire. BBQ area was also a great setup, late tables facing the mountains and kangaroos lounging.

We just arrived home from our first ever trip to the Grampians and we feel very lucky to have come across the Pioneer Cottages. Perfect location, being set on a large property where you feel like your miles from anyone else... But everything you want to visit is just around the corner. (It's accessed via a rather short, very well... More

Thankyou Watt0s for your great review. The kangaroos aren't just hanging around your cottage today but they're still active & loving the fresh grass. The emu's were hanging around the Guests in the Redgum Log cottage this morning much to their delight, See you next time, Greg More

My son and I spent a few days in the log cottage, and we left wishing we could stay. The peace and tranquility envelopes you from lying in a hammock between the trees, getting to know the wildlife, to relaxing in front of a log fire at night. With a lovely zoo, the local pub, and lots of interesting shops... More

It was hard trying to find accommodation that would suit a family with 3 children, all teenagers, 2 boys and 1 girl but we eventually did and what a wonderful stay it was. We headed there after work from Adelaide on a Friday and arrived at midnight. Linen was left for all our beds making it a lighter trip. The... More

Thankyou for your review Trish & Chris. You guys certainly fit a lot in during your stay, it's fortunate you could rest so well in between so much action. Now I understand why your car looked so clean, it was new! I suspect the Council have been waiting for a rain to damp the gravel before grading again, they're normaly... More

Spent a couple of nights in the stone cottage and was perfect! Ambience created from use of reclaimed building materials and the fireplace all set ready to light on arrival is great! The views are spectacular and allow one the beauty to watch sunsets over the Grampians whilst enjoying a wine from one of the locals winery! Allow time to... More

Fantastic stay at Easter 2013. From the moment we pulled off the main road and spotted kangaroos and emus (and lots of rabbits) we realised this was as close to nature as our kids had been. The cabins are very comfortable and surprisingly warm even without the use of the open fire. The BBQ facilities and picnic area were used... More

Thanks for your detailed review Phil. Great to hear you all enjoyed yourself, we enjoyed having your family & friends here too...a few glasses of wine, some wild stories & accompanying laughter certainly contributed to this. Happily we didn't get many eggs whilst you were here as the kids were very efficient at looking after the chooks & collecting them... More
