The Adolphus was a bit different from the majority of places where I have stayed for business in the US. As a European, I find US business focussed hotels mostly very similar - if you asked me to name the hotels I stayed in a couple of years in the US, I probably couldn't tell you without some prompting. However... More

At 3am I woke up thirsty and realized that only scalding water was coming from all the water stickers. Shower and sink. I didn't dip my hand in the toilet to check that. I left watee running and it got hotter. They sent maintenance and he did something then flushed the toilet a few times and the cold water returned.... More

Dear Dave, We are reviewing the engineering logs to determine which guestroom you stayed in. The maintenance engineer was incorrect and was not following our protocol. The angle of a blower would obviously not affect the coldness of the air. A properly working air-conditioning unit will quickly cool any size guestroom, including our very large luxury suites. Please accept our... More

I stayed one night on the supposedly haunted 19th floor. No weird sounds or feelings, just a comfortable but somewhat worn room. The bed was soft and comfortable and the room large. A single window faced the inner courtyard, so there was no view. There appeared to be very view other guests, which may limited number of staff. The only... More

My husband and I stayed there for Mothers Day. It was reccomended we take their car to a nice breakfast place. They dropped us off after waiting 20 mins for the car to take us, which was sort of ok. Then the problem occured. We waited 45 mins for them to pick us up. We called 2xs and each time... More

We spent a fabulous weekend at this hotel. Rooms were spacious, water pressure was great, staff was friendly, and the bed was comfortable. The elevators are small, but we never had to wait long at all for one to take us up or down. Truly great experience and we'll stay here again.

The Adolphus hotel is a landmark and we like these kind of historic hotels very much. The rooms in the Adolphus are however in our opinion very much in need of a drastic refurbishment. We have some other remarks about our stay, especially concerning the events prior to our stay. =When we made the reservations more than six months ago... More

I booked this back in January at the conference rate. I was happy the hotel is in easy walking distance to the convention center. We knew the hotel was "haunted" so we stayed on the 19th floor in room 13. The room was so spacious and tall. The lighting was a little dank but we thought the view was actually cool in an eerie kind of way. The beds were very comfortable and the furniture didn't really have that vintage smell, good. But, haha,... More

To be fair, I should have done my homework. I booked this room for us to stay one Friday night after going to a show in town. This hotel is beautiful both inside and outside, but the staff is terribly below standard. I was staying in Dallas for two months, most of which were next door. The last two weeks my coworkers and I had to stay at the Adolphus which left us begging to go back to the other hotel. For such an "upscale" hotel, the... More
