We stay at 1816 Post Office one or two times per year when we attend performances at the Grand. The house is warm and inviting with comfortable common areas. The breakfast is a whole breakfast that is nicely prepared and well presented. The sleeping rooms are large and comfortable. The beds are great. The Grand is a short walk and... More

I've actually stayed here several times, sometimes with friends, sometimes solo. The beds are pristine and the rooms beautiful. It's a short, short walk to the Strand or Opera House for a concert and they have on sight parking free. I think my favoritte thing is just sitting on the top or bottom porch enjoying the quiet and the gulf... More

We spent the 4th of July at the Inn 1816 Postoffice in Galveston as guests of Judy and Bettye, and loved every minute of the quaint Victorian home that our innkeepers have so lovingly and authentically restored! Every detail of the room was charming, and its history of its original immigrant owners won our hearts! Breakfast was a special, delicious... More

2 gracious, friendly owners who are knowledgeable about Galveston. "Named" rooms are spacious and lovely -- luxurious linens, comfy beds & fine baths. Breakfasts: full & bountiful, delicious and original & served artfully and beautifully. Meet others & enjoy the porches. Convenient to downtown Galveston. Beaches, great shopping on the Strand, Moody gardens, a ferry ride to Bolivar Peninsula & back,... More

We traveled with 3 friends to this B&B, so in total we took up 3 rooms. This was so much better than staying at a hotel! (We were originally slated to stay at the Hyatt, but changed plans). The innkeepers were just fantastic - so friendly. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the place had a great homey feel. In... More

This beautiful & charming Inn is a remodeled 1800's historical home on Galveston Island. The decor makes you feel like you are living in the Victorian days. You can also ride the horse & buggy which passes by daily. The rooms are lovely with claw tubs, victorian styles, and lots of antiques. This is a great place to get away,... More

My husband and I were lucky to find such a charming and amenable B&B in Galveston during a holiday week - 4th of July. The Inn at 1816 Postoffice is only a few blocks away from the Strand and harbor area. We walked every day !!!! We went to the Strand shopping area, around the East End Historic homes, and... More

This was my second stay at this lovely Bed and Breakfast in downtown Galveston. My husband and I enjoyed the Garden Room when we went to see a show at the Grand Opera House. Everything about this Inn is elegant with attention to every detail. Saturday evening we had a lovely array of fruit, vegetables, and cheeses with red and... More
