My wife and I stayed at the Lodge for 1 night in the Parrott Room. The room had dusty lampshades but otherwise clean. The bathroom was very clean. The air conditioner had trouble keeping up in the early evening but cooled down during the night. Breakfast is served in the pavilion located within the tented camp area. The main reason... More

As others have indicated, this is not a typical hotel or b&b. The house has been turned in to a lodge with five rooms. We stayed in the Parrot. We were able to park right outside our door for easy luggage moving. There were still a few steps but not bad.The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever... More

Stayed at the safari camp was ok untill I was ready for bed,and found only a box spring, no extra blankets or pillow and no mattress.I paid 225 dollars to sleep on box springs. Cannot believe that I did that.Did not receive any help that satisfied me.NEVER AGAIN FOR ME. Place is way overpriced.

We stayed at the Lodge for the purpose of seeing the animals and taking the breakfast tour. No way would I pay the regular season rates for this place. The Lodge rooms (bar, bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, etc.) are on multiple levels--you are constantly negotiating steep steps and stepping up to the kitchen, down to the living room, etc. so... To experience a bit of Safari Adventure we decided to stay in the Lodge @ the Fossil Rim, Glen Rose (who knows maybe someday we can afford to go to a real African Safari @ least we have an idea of what might like). $225 (excluding tax) for a weekend overnight stay in Safari Camp Tent includes: accommodation based on... Absolutely loved our visit to Fossil Rim. Below is the breakdown: The lodge was sweet place to stay. It’s like a bed and breakfast. The former vacation house of the original owners - it has approx 5 rooms for guests to choose from with beautiful views of the property. Sure it could use a renovation, but the beds and linens... After several safaris in Africa the last thing we ever want to do is to visit any zoo but this place happened to be on our route as we traveled across the country so we booked one night at the camp. What a pleasant surprise. This wasn't anything like a zoo at all! The setting was wonderful it reminded us... More

The cabin location is fabulous, allowing a family to watch animals night and day. However, the hotel service is excruciating bad, especially at these inflated prices. I think the lodge is run by uncaring volunteers. Don't expect any help with lights, flooded toilets, etc. The so-called hosts will tell you how to fix all your own problems. During out stay... More
