Small rooms, like all of its period; don't think about placing many items in the closet. The beautiful architecture combined with tasteful decorations transport you back 60 years to a Marfa and west Texas oasis that once was. Wait a minute, it's still an oasis and not much has changed in these parts since 1950. Great outdoor dining and bar... More

Hotel Paisano is a wonderfully charming historic hotel (built in the 1930's by architect, William Trost) and vintage movie buffs will appreciate that it played host to the stars of the Academy Award winning movie, Giant (memorabilia in lobby). Hotel Paisano is a Pet friendly property—all pets welcome (although management discourages pet armadillos—"they dig" and encourages cages for exotic pets).... More

Considering the options in the area, the Paisano is an Oasis in the desert. It is historcally significant and picturesque as well. The lobby area is fabulous, the room was decent enough. Wife and I spent one night there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will likely stay there if we visit Marfa again.

I have been staying at the Paisano Hotel for over 10 years, when I travel to the area. Do not expect phones in the room but you do get a great experience. They have WIFI and flatscreens so you can step out fo the last century, but why bother. Beautiful lobby, great staff and the courtyard is the best place... More

A really nice place to stay. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. This is an old restored hotel, so don't expect big luxury bathrooms or and elevator. The restaurant is excellent with gourmet food at reasonable prices. The Margaritas are a killer with freshly squeezed lime. Very relaxing to sit and have a drink at this place. Nicely located... We stayed two nights in a suite at the Hotel Paisano and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The suite was very spacious with two queens and a seating area by the television. The bathroom was quite small, but we expected that in a historic hotel. The only other quibble was that the TV remote had problems. These minor issues were completely... More

If you are looking for some kind of luxury accommodation forget it. This hotel provides the basics and does them well enough considering one is the middle of nowhere when visiting Marfa. We were there during a very cold and snowy spell in early January. I found the staff to be friendly and welcoming despite what I've read elsewhere. The... More

Great atmosphere in the patio area of an evening when people are coming back from exploring and preparing to go off and see the marfa lights. Rooms are pretty dated but the hotel has the history of the movies to carry it through. Front desk staff could be more welcoming

You feel like you are back in the old west at the Paisano. We stayed there for two nights on a recent visit to Marfa. The hotel has been completed renovated but without losing any of its original charm. Built in 1930 it housed the actors for the classic movie, "Giant." The hotel is clean and well managed. We heard... More

Lovingly restored Trost designed hotel built pre-depression (just). This is a remote place even today, and building a hotel here in the late 20's must have been a real gamble, so its great that you can stay here today, and experience something of what would have been a luxury establishment then. Sure, the (standard) rooms are small, the bathrooms tiny,... More
