The hotel is situated on the river bank in the centre of town. The restaurant/bar has nice views over the river with a terrace available during good weather. The staff are very friendly and have a good command of English. Continental breakfast was good and dinner was fine. The bedrooms are roomy with some overlooking the river. There is very... More

Reasonable but not exceptional hotel. Good sized rooms. Food good but no choice on evening meal (we were on a package from Treyn Holidays). Nice roof pool area but too cold when we were staying. Good views over the river. Continental breakfast with good choice but no hot food. Not a lot in the town but some local tourist attractions... More

We may have visited the restaurant on a bad night, but we had a very poor experience. The first course did arrive fairly promptly and was OK. We had to wait a while for the main course, which when it arrived were fairly poor, and after a hours wait, we gave up on the rest of the meal. There are... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and were very satisfied with all aspects of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and our rooms, although slightly dated, were clean, comfortable and roomy. They seem to be in the process of refurbishing as some rooms have already been updated with modern furniture and new shower rooms. Our room overlooked the... More

Wonderful location especially if you request a room overlooking the river. Although there is no airconditioning the full length windows with shutters ensure an airflow from the river and the sound of the frogs can be soporific! Fourth floor has air con in bedrooms, we had a look at a recently vacated room - lots more character in these few... More

We had a room with a beautiful view over the river, unfortunately at night the frogs made such a noise we had to keep our french windows closed. There was no air conditioning on the second floor (only on the fourth at present) and the weather was very hot. The hotel staff were friendly, it was clean and is being... More

We didnt stay in this hotel, but we live in the area and ate here one evening June 2011, we had heard there were new managers so thought we would try it again, having previously tried it some years ago and actually was very good. However on this particular evening we chose the 27 euro menu, the garlic soup was... More

Had a most enjoyable stay at the Hotel Royal Vezere. The chef excelled himself and gave us wonderful dinners every night. Breakfast were great too - the bountiful selection of mini pasties were a hit with me. Hotel clean and welcoming, staff helpful and efficient, quirky dining room decor. Hotel right on the river which was an added bonus. Only... More

Stayed for last night in Dordogne area, good location, room had beautiful view over the river so if you are staying here pay the extra euro for the view. Availed of Demi-pension which was good value (breakfast & dinner included) Hotel is quiet dated (no holder for shower hose), probably built in the 70s and not touched since. Rates itself... More

Reception staff very friendly and helpful, plus they speak all the main languages. Bar and restaurant terrace over the river - lovely at all times of the day. Rooms and beds are comfortable - not luxurious but more than adequate. I recommend you ask for a room with view of the river , even if it costs extra. These rooms... More
