We had one night here. The hotel is well placed for visiting Le Bugue and has a free car park. Breakfast is basic, but fresh and well-presented. All in all it's okay value and the welcome was warm. But the decor is definitely in need of a touch up. Also, if you want to use the free wifi, ask for... More

we stayed just one night; the owner has bought the hotel very recently (1st Aug 2012) and is making every effort to be successful; we could not say he isn't helpful or eager to please. The rooms need refreshing and the bathrooms too; the carpeting smells funny, the paint is old, the appliances are rundown. Breakfast was in a depressing... More

Le Cygne is an excellent small hotel - modestly priced and very comfortable. Nice welcome from the owner and located 200m from the centre of the village of le Bugue.. We didn't use the restaurant but other guests recommended it. Would definitely go back as it's a good base for touring the Dordogne.

I have just returned from a four night stay at le Cygne and would highly recommend it for those visiting the area. The owner and staff at the hotel. Couldn't have made us more welcome. The rooms were a good size, comfortable and clean. The hotel has a good restaurant, which we used for two of our nights stay. All... More

We stayed several nights in November 2011. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good but the breakfast room and restaurant were both rather chilly. The heating was turned up in the restaurant when i said that i was cold but a shame that I had to ask. Everyone was well wrapped up - don't pack a LBD for... More

We stayed several nights in October 2010. Older place in quaint village, good dinners. Good central place to stay to go visit the prehistoric caves. Lots to do in the local area for kids too.

They clearly have a decent chef these days even if some dishes don't quite come off. Quality of ingredients and cooking high though. Ambience somewhat lacking - bright lights and cheap looking modern furniture don't help to build any atmosphere. Service definitely on the slow side - on our visit 2 and a half hours to get through 3 courses... More

We have stayed in the hotel before and would recommend it again. Lovely and comfortable room. Bathroom needs some upgrading though, in particular the shower cubical, it was too small. Excellent restaurant and breakfast also good.

Meal was well-prepared, well-presented and well-served. It's often risky to order steak in a French restaurant, but this steak (locally produced) was excellent as was the rest of the meal- carpaccio, foie-gras and sabayon. We have stayed for several days in the hotel previously and again would thoroughly recommend it for comfort, peace and quiet and the host's attention.

Friendly and cosy hotel at walking distance from town centre. Well-decorated rooms and excellent restaurant with local specialities. We liked the owner and staff, they were professional and helpful. Breakfast consists of buffet with lots of choice in lovely separate room.
