Although the innkeeper was very nice, when we arrived there were large holes in the screen windows, and the bathroom shower was not very clean. The outside screen door stayed open and did not close. It appeared that the inn was somewhat in disrepair. However, we were there in early May and it is possible that the spring clean-up had... More

I was dismayed that these guests did not stay. They arrived early --before noon. I was airing out their room, which had a lake view, flowers, vintage linens--and because they were family members, and might not want to share a bed, I gave them an extra room and bathroom at no extra charge. They settled in before heading for a... More

All the reasons one stays in a Bed and Breakfast are why we stay at the Greentrails Inn. It's the perfect New England home, with old fashioned charm and hospitality. Brookfield is a lovely little town. A car passes once an hour. Most likely, it will be someone Jane knows. You can walk to the river, over the floating bridge,... More

Magical, wonderful, delicious, restful, peaceful, and room for family , friends, and spacious Fork Shop (on the property) for spending precious time with the bride and groom. Jane is a fantastic hostess, Inn keeper, cook, area resource, and purveyor of comfort and culinary treats. From the moment we arrived until we left, she made sure we were comfortable, cared for,... My daughter and I came to Brookfield for my sister's wedding, andenjoyed a peaceful night at the inn. Jane greeted us in the evening with freshly made gingerbread and juice, and showed us to our room...It was spacious and beautiful. It had a king-size bed with a lovely quilt, 2 comfortable rocking chairs, a private bathroom, and we were lulled... More

We booked our stay a year in advance with Jane who graciously gave us an on the spot tour of the property while we were vacationing at another property. We fell in love with the location, uniqueness of the home and Jane's friendliness. We were 5 adults and 6 children and with a little creative thinking managed to get everyone... More

This was my wife's second stay here and my first. Jane the owner is a sweetheart and kind. The food was fantastic! Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We'd return in a heartbeat. Great value. If you're having a family reunion I'd recommend renting the old pitchfork factory, which is next to a waterfall and floating bridge. We... More

Spent one relaxing night here. Took a very pleasant dip in the pond. Very casual and unpretentious. Superb breakfast with local foods. The restaurant across the street, a completely separate business but the only choice in town, was a big disappointment -- do not let them put you on the "gazebo". But I had no complaints about Green Trails (just... More

My partner and I rented the Fork Shop from Jane, the innkeeper who owns the Green Trails Inn for our wedding weekend. All of our guests stayed at the Green Trails Inn and loved it. If you want to be loved like your family then this is a wonderful place in a charming hidden spot in Central Vermont. Jane is... More

My wife and I spent three nights in a rather wet Vermont at the start of October. One of the highlights of our trip was staying at the Green Trails Inn and meeting the innkeeper, Jane. The inn is a few hundred years old which added to its charm but obviously means that some of the mod-cons one expects in... More

If you want to experience authentic Vermont, Green Trails in Brookfield is a good choice. The village in the vicinity of the floating bridge which seems to be the centre is delightful and Green Trails is right in the centre. Jane's other property, opposite the Inn is delightful and extremely good value if you want to hire it out for... More
