I have been to Craftsbury three times in the last two years. Wonderful location, really great food and top-notch coaching (if you are a beginner or advaneced, but definitely not if you are in between)...Beware one coach, Troy...He is arrogant, small-minded, judgemental, and not supportive at all!!...He is actually quite mean and petty...Other than avoiding Troy, it is an excellent... We just experienced two lovely days of skiing at Craftsbury. On March 22 and 23rd the snow was plentiful and the trails expertly groomed ---- we especially loved Sam's Run. Since we are seniors the trail fee was only $5 --- what a surprise and what a difference from Trappe ! We love to ski and have skied at numerous... More

It's like the middle of winter now, up at Craftsbury. More than enough snow for hours of skiing in excellent conditions. And the weather report calls for continued winter temperatures and additional snow. So head up there: the snow report on their web site is right on. The place is right on too, offering expert grooming, Olympic caliber skiers to... More

We skied during March break with our kids, ages 6 and 9. The week had rain and snow, but despite this, the trails were expertly groomed and perfect to ski on. Unbelievably good, buffet-style, locally-sourced food. Lodging includes 3 meals in a communal dining hall. Terrific food, friendly staff and college-like feel to this place, made our trip memorable. We... More

Snow has been light in the NE this year, but Craftsbury has a reputation of being in a "snow pocket" so we decided it was a good place to try to get in a short x-country skiing trip before spring arrived. We got lucky and arrive the week after the Blizzard of 2013. Great snow and great terrain. Nicely maintained... More

Went for a weekend Feb. Despite a snow drought the x-c ski trails were well maintained and I had an excellent time. The accommodations are basic with soft-ish beds, but the food is great and if you like outdoor winter activities that don't involve downhill skiing, this place cannot be beat! Bring ice skates, snow shoes and x-c skis (or... More

You'd think these people would be friendlier. We kept hearing "it's our policy" when we were there. It felt rather corporate. Skiing was ok, not that much open, but they did a good job with what they had. Place was filled with Elderhostel people. They were nice, but it felt like we were at an old folks home (same the... Excellent instruction (sculling), beautiful location, great running routes, outstanding food and very clean accommodations. I would have loved to have an ensuite bathroom, but the communal washrooms were very clean and I never had to wait for a shower. I loved the atmosphere and would really like to return in the winter to ski and in the summer for more... More

I have been to CSC three times in the last two years. The location is wonderful as is the food. Rooms are basic. The big disappointment is the sculling program. If you are a beginner or an advanced rower then you will certainly benefit. But for those in the middle, the program is not worth the money...

This is a great place to bring a family, especially if you want to learn to X-country ski. It is a place to do something with your kids, not a place to send them off with babysitters. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but rustic. Between skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding there is lots to do for both young and older... More
