Grafton VT and The Grafton Inn continue to be favorite places but this year's management "upheaval" at the Windham Foundation which operates the Inn has taken its toll, particularly on the atmosphere (a bit tense) and the food (a bit uneven). It will be interesting to see if things have settled down when we return in the Fall. Rooms are... More

It is the highlight of our travel year when we get to spend a few days at the Grafton Inn. We've been coming here for 8 years and I dream about spending time on the porch, in a rocking chair, reading or vegging. The rooms are uniquely furnished and it's interesting to see the layout and antique furniture in your... More

Grafton, VT and the inn are both very unique places. The town of Grafton is the beneficiary of a foundation that has resurrected the town, and inn, and created an idyllic Vermont experience. We recently spent three nights in this historic inn, actually in their "annex" across the main street affording us a slightly larger room, and enjoyed the experience... More

Was at the Grafton last weekend and had a wonderful experience. The room assigned to us was large and airy with lots of windows and light. We had two full size canopy beds that felt like we were sleeping on clouds. It was quiet and peaceful around the inn. Breakfast was included in our room rate and the breakfast was... More

We arrived late in the evening and the innkeeper was very willing to help us get set up and stay a little longer to make sure we got in safely. The Inn is in multiple buildings and we were not told about that ahead of time which would have been nice. With that said the rooms were clean, warm and... More

My partner and I stayed at the inn recently for a weekend outdoor winter getaway and found it to be a lovely spot that made you feel like you were stepping back in time. While a few aspects of the facility need some updating, overall it was a very comfortable stay. The wall to our room that led to the... More

We love staying at the Grafton Inn, Old Tavern. We have spent every President's Weekend here for more than 12 years. The inn is historic, dates back to 1801. There are beautiful antiques everywhere. Check out the houses owned by the inn. These are great value for families or groups traveling together. They have full kitchens, several bedrooms and bathrooms.... More

This was our first time at the Inn where we met a family of five on their third visit who had already booked ahead for 2014. I understand why. Our room was enormous with two double beds plus breakfast at a bargain midweek rate ($99/night). A few minutes down the road Grafton Ponds Nordic ski center offers beginners (that would... More

My wife and I couldn't think of a better place to spend our 25th wedding anniversary! We spent our 20th there and G-d willing, will spend our 30th there. We had some dietary restrictions this time around and contacted the innkeepers ahead of time. The chef arranged a menu for our anniversary dinner that fit our restrictions perfectly. I'm somewhat...
