Stayed here last weekend. They ran out of heating oil in the middle of the night. Was 50 deg in our room and we had no hot water in the AM. Inn keeper didn't even apologize as people were loading up to leave. They don't serve breakfast either. Lounge is locked up during the day. Bit of a shady bar... More

I stayed here for 2 nights this past weekend and was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the accommodations were for a small reasonably priced lodge at the base of a small ski area. THe rooms have obviously been recently remodeled and they were roomy and very clean. The bed was very comfortable also. We went to the bar/lounge on... More

After giving this establishment rave reviews as a family friendly destination in 2010, following a recent visit I have to reconsider. Although the lodge is clean and well maintained by the new owners and they are welcoming and polite enough, the atmosphere has changed considerably. #1.) The lounge and fireplace that gave the place its ambiance is actually closed and... More

We visited the area a handful of times and no place comes close to The Lodge Vermont in value, service, and location. Located right on Magic Mountain owners Lori and Wally are amazingly accommodating. They have a great bar downstairs and themed weekend nights make it a great hangout after a day on the mountains. Highly recommended! More

My wife and I stayed on labor day week-end. Took a shot in the dark after Hurricane Ireene. Booked the room on-line after reading all the reviews on trip advisor. We were not dissapointed. There is a restaraunt and lounge on the property and they had a live band on Saturday night. The new owners were very accomodating. When we... More

'we were considering a trip to Vermont in December. I booked the room but had not put a deposit down on it. I was going to do this the first week of Septe mber, 2011. In August, we changed our minds and are staying local for the holidays,....the inn still charged my account $50 for cancelling the reservation when I... More

The couple that run this hotel are very nice and hospitable. However, there are several misrepresentations on their website about this hotel. Firstly they state,"The Lodge Vermont features all the modern amenities and quality services you've come to expect from a top-rated hotel". This is absolutely not true. There are no elevators and the steps are very steep and if... More

We arrived at The Lodge for our last night on a 10 day road trip where everything had gone surprisingly smoothly up until this point until...lo and behold I had misbooked the last night and they weren’t expecting us (or anyone for that matter). Lori was so lovely and accommodating, she took our situation in her stride, found us a... More

Tired of soulless, corporate-run skiing at mega-mountains, my partner and I decided to ski in early January at Magic Mountain, where pokey double chairlifts are the norm and liftlines are anomalies. Despite having only a handful of trails open, Magic did not disappoint us, and neither did The Lodge Vermont (I feel compelled here to add "formerly Inn at Magic... More

I liked the family atmosphere, the proximity to many different ski resorts, the close access to other attractions such as the Vermont Country Store, other outlet shopping if you like outlets, horse drawn carriage rides, great bar entertainment in hotel itself, and superior chili. We were especially fond of the little hostess, Hhanna, who greated us and managed to win... More
