20 years ago we were married in the chapel of the First Congregational Church, & stayed at the Village Country Inn, which at that time was dated, but cozy, with a first class restaurant. Because that Inn is no longer in operation, we stayed at the Reluctant Panther For this trip. We loved our accommodations ... an upstairs cottage suite.... More

My husband and I stayed at the Reluctant Panther for our honeymoon, and we were both so happy with the experience. To start with, our wedding was in October, the day before Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast (thankfully it didn't impact our wedding!). The staff at the RP called us a couple of days before we were set to... More

Nestled in a "bowl" surrounded by beautiful Vermont mountains, this property is well maintained and deserving of its inclusion as a small luxury hotel. We got a well appointed suite and enjoyed the 2 gas fireplaces (one in bedroom and one in bathroom). Room was well appointed with combination of athentic antiques integrated with "Home Store" purchases. We could have... More

Ending a long weekend in southern Vermont in Manchester was something we have been looking forward to since the summer. When Hurricane Sandy disrupted our school schedule at home in NJ, three of the four of us planning this trip (teachers!) found ourselves working over what was supposed to be a long weekend in November to make up lost instruction... Had a great time here- the staff was really nice and helpful. They upgraded us for free on a low booking day. I think we were the only people there our first night. They also let us check in early when we arrived to town several hours ahead of time. Breakfast was great- Made to order and turn down service... More

Stayed for two nights in fantastic Falling Spruce room.....a must! Service was impeccable. Everyone there simply cared about making your stay great. Breakfast included was very, very good. Cooked to order not a buffet. Location was perfect, and inn was well kept and well furnished. Do not be in any way reluctant to stay here. We will certainly return. Thank... More

We spent Sunday night at the beautiful Reluctant Panther Inn. The hotel is beautiful in every sense of the word and the rooms are perfectly appointed. The reception desk was very helpful and arranged two massages in our room before our dinner. We travel frequently and found the services and food at the restaurant to be top notch. We ventured... We recently stayed a night in the Fallen Spruce room and were absolutely floored at how luxurious it was...and it all seemed brand new. Apparently there was a fire at this property and so now everything is new...and world class. Huge room with fireplace, gorgeous four-poster bed, bold colors on comfy couch, chairs and bench, and big bathroom with granite,... More

We stayed in one of the rooms in a side building. It had a strong potpourri smell and had stained carpeting, perhaps the sent was trying to cover something up. I should have tried to change rooms, but thought they were full. The breakfast was good, although the tea just grocery store quality. The staff was helpful, even printed out... More
