The house is beautiful and charming and the host is more than willing to provide a "tour" of the many rooms. The bed was comfortable and satellite TV and WiFi are provided. I do have to agree with other reviewers that the rooms can be a bit cold. Also, I agree that the breakfast is sparse. We were offered fruit... More

This house was built in the early 19th century by Mr Proctor who owned a marble factory and was Governor of Vermont. The house is being restored and is very elegant. We had a huge bedroom with a very comfortable King bed , walk in closet, full bathroom with claw foot tub and shower. There were handrails on the tub... More

Hundreds of guests have praised us on our breakfasts which consist of coffee or tea, daily meat, eggs, French toast or pancakes made to order, juices, fruit, toast and jam. Other items are made available if we know about dietary restrictions or allergies. Very surprised and sorry to hear this guest considered that a small breakfast! Coffee and tea are... More

We stayed at the Antique Mansion a couple of weeks ago as we were in Rutland Vt. on business. Sallie greeted us at the door and was just as pleasant as could be. We were introduced to the entire mansion and had a beautiful room ready for us. On the tour of the mansion, a lovely room with a billiard... More

Sally made us sandwiches when we got in late, made me feel at home while I was hanging out alone in the living room, and gave us a ride to the town at the end of the trip. The house is beautiful and the country club across the street was great for taking a walk. Sally told us that the... More

Housed in a beautiful and historic house, Sally, the Owner, provides cozy Vermont accommodations and serves a wonderful breakfast. Sally is engaging but not intrusive. Coffee station with cookies available anytime. Convenient location. Would definitely stay here again.

My girlfriend and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday for 3 nights. From the first conversation with Sallie on the phone to our good-byes on Sunday, everything about our stay was pleasant, comfortable and charming. I really liked how personal she made the experience. For example, other bnbs I've stayed at have a specific time for breakfast each day.... More

I stayed here with my parents and thoroughly enjoyed the historic mansion and the owner, Sallie, who is very friendly and helpful! It's in a good location and Sallie was very flexible to meet our needs.

I stopped there on my way to Boston by bike. My bedroom was great, the living room is perfect and the breakfast was delightful. Location is good, as it is walking distance from the center of the city. And the host is very friendly. Perfect spot if you bike around the region!
