Went to Boar's Head Inn for a quick getaway from DC. The front desk was super professional and efficient, exactly what you'd expect. Our room was ok, nothing special. Didn't experience the spa or golf course, but I'm sure they were nice. We didn't eat at BHI, and chose instead to dine in the restaurants in C-ville. There are so... More

Reservation staff was exceptionally rude and unwilling to refund a room despite hotel not being full. The place lives up to its snotty reputation and is far from southern hospitality. There is nothing special about the resort, and there are far better locations + price if proximity to Charlottesville is your priority.

Our second stay in a premium king room in the 600 building and we were not disappointed. Overall, the resort brilliantly blends clean/modern touches with historic charm. At their recommendation when booking, we moved down one floor from our original room to enjoy a full view of the lake (up one floor and the view is partially obstructed by the... More

We stayed at the Boar's Head Inn for two nights in room 210. I recommend avoiding this room. It sounded like a cart was rolling by every few minutes morning and night. The noise was louder in the bathroom like banging on the wall. I realized that they put us in the room next to the old elevator. It was... More

The Boar's Head in brings American history to life. Jefferson's presence is felt everywhere, from the art on the walls to the quotes etched into the bathroom mirrors. Nice amenties, if you stay long enough to take advantage of the recreational activities and spa. Food options are limited. A car is a necessity.

We recently visited the area to tour Monticello, and in looking to book a hotel ran across this inn. It turned out to be a great choice. Value wise it was just a bit more than the chain hotels but a far nicer experience. Very relaxing, quiet, great service, wonderful breakfast. Super overnight stop.

I have been to the spa at the Boar's Head many times when I was in school in Charlottesville which is lovely. First time staying at the hotel and glad I did. We had a room in the main building, 309 which was perfect and I would ask for again. It was beautifully done, not huge, but nice, warm furnishings... More

This is a nice hotel/inn/resort, but has at best average service in the hotel, terrible service on the phone, and the restaurants can't get their story straight. The restaurants never return calls, never respond to voice mail (yes, the restaurant phone often rolls to voicemail - even in normal work hours) nor do the restaurants confirm anything with you. The... More

Now I know why I have always wanted to stay here. European charm and wonderful amenities are not to be believed. The grounds are beautiful and the attention to detail was perfect. We had the bed & breakfast spring pkg and had a choice of a buffet breakfast, menu breakfast, or breakfast in bed with a generous allowance. We chose... More

Clearly the best place to stay in Charlottesville. Great property, great rooms. Breakfast has suffered for some reason. Bathrooms are excellent and spacious. Beds are excellent, rooms are spacious, well appointed. Rooms in the main building have somewhat thin doors that allow hall noise to penetrate the rooms.
