The Buckhorn Inn is a memorable place to be. The hosts are friendly and put you at ease. The food is satisfying and the menu gives plentiful options in case you prefer a lighter or a heavier breakfast. A white bathrobe and two pairs of white slippers are provided for comfort while you are there. Slippers are just one of... More

Some of our extended family (16 of us) celebrated our dad's 80th birthday and a brother's 40th birthday by staying 2 nights at The Buckhorn Inn over a Maple Festival weekend. Even though it was a busy time, (the Yoder's hosted an all you can eat breakfast and later a supper buffet on Saturday) we were given lots of special... More

Very clean, and spacious. we had a family reunion and had the secondfloor to ourselves. The rooms were big. The family that runs the place is very personable and wants to know your name. I slept better than I did in my own bed. Food is delicious. location is convenient to hikes, historic Towns, and harrisonburg or Charlottesville.

From the moment we arrived at the Buckhorn the owners made us feel welcome and in good hands. The full breakfasts were AMAZING and prepared as we entered the dining room: freshly cut fruit salad, eggs to order, pancakes and French toast put on the griddle upon ordering. They bake their own breads and muffins, farm their own eggs and... More

We stayed at the Buckhorn Inn while hunting in the George Washington National Forest the first week of deer season. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We have been coming to the area for over forty years, always camping near Ramsey's Draft. This year we decided to treat ourselves to a less demanding adventure. The inn is... More

Lovely accommodations, very friendly hosts (and dog!), and the ambiance of the mountains in the fall? Priceless! Would recommend a light on the sign for finding our way after dark. Otherwise, great place and will return!

My wife and I went up for the weekend and left the 2 year old home with the grandparents. The owner called the evening prior to confirm the approximate time that we would be arriving just to make sure the room was in order. We arrived around 9:30 pm on a Friday and were greeted at the entrance by Garland.... More

We're glad we could make your get-away special and relaxing. The 'hundreds' of hummingbirds might be a bit of a stretch; there are quite a few though and they certainly are fun to watch. More

I thought of the ad where the guys drive around until they lose cell service. Well, they could go here and that is just one of the great things about The Buckhorn Inn. It's not that it's in the middle of nowhere, it's just in the shadow of the mountains, a beautiful, cool valley that we visited in early September.... More

Nice, quiet inn. Lots of history. Easy to miss at night. Very friendly innsetters. Good food. Room larger than anticipated. Very laid back. Looks old- but, duh, that is what it is supposed to be. AC could have been better. We really enjoyed our stay.

Hosts very nice and welcoming, everything we needed. Stayed in the "Stonewall Jackson" suite, which was 2 rooms (one for the baby). They were very kid-friendly (pro for us now, might have been a con 2 years ago...)
