A quiet, pastoral setting in a bustling college town. Check-in is handled in a 175 year old restored mansion. It rivals any historic bed and breakfast in looks and comfort. Unfortunately the main entrance is not noticeably handicap accessible. The rooms were up to the typical Hampton Inn standards in all things except the springy mattresses, but all in all... More

Really, really nice hotel - lovely grounds, excellent staff and very nice rooms with large bathrooms, flat screen TVs, very comfortable beds! And the included breakfast is one of the best I've seen. Everything is available - juices, cereals, fruit, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, omelets, meats, home fries - eat up and skip lunch! It books up early so plan ahead... More

we always stay here when in lexington. our most recent stay here was just as nice as it always is. while i've seen the king rooms and they are in-line with most hampton inn properies, we usually opt for the manor rooms inside the mansion part. these rooms are nicely appointed and have more of a bed & breakfast feel... The Lexington Hampton Inn Col Alto is a nice change of pace from the normal Hampton experience. The back of the hotel is standard Hampton with a combination of external and internal corridors. The front part including the lobby is an original Manor House from the 1800s. It contains several special rooms in which you can stay that are very... More

If you're going to Lexington VA, The Hampton Inn is the place to be ! Beautiful old estate converted into a Hampton Inn with lovely rooms and grounds. It's the best Hampton Inn in the USA ! Seriously, the staff is so friendly and so helpful - - great place - maybe I should keep this a secret but I... More

This is just a great property. Very historic and centrally located. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was good. The room was larger than most Hampton Inn's, clean, comfortable and well appointed. When I am in the area this is the place I stay! More

This is not your typical Hampton. Very quite, clean, pleasant, and comfortable surroundings. Not too mention the great breakfast (most breakfast bars are rather dull). If you are travelling the Shenandoah Valley it is well worth the money. More

This is a very different Hampton Inn, placed in a parkland setting but close to shops and fast food outlets. Part of the hotel is an old manor house, with an impressive entrance. The welcome was very friendly, with free cookies on offer. The room was large and the bed extremely comfortable. Huge TV. Quiet location, good facilities. We would... More

Keep looking if your in the area. The air didn't work, I ask for fan -they said no. Tv in room and exercise room volume wouldn't raise. Overall a huge disappoint for $140 a night . I've stayed in $59/ night properties and have been more satisfied. More

We passed through Lexington on a cross country road trip and spent this night at this beautiful historic inn. The large rooms were recently restored with beautiful detail and modern amenities (great bathrooms!). It's a really special place with beautiful grounds, an easy walk to the nearby colleges. The only negative would be the generic breakfast. More
