After reading the reviews and viewing the website, we expected a charming place to stay with helpful hosts. We were greeted very warmly, it is true, but found the accommodation (the separate gite) was not maintained very well. There was a distinct mouldy/rot smell in the main floor of the gite so we had to leave windows and doors open... More

An awful, putrid moldy stench permeates the small apartment (the "gite") that does not abate with a cross breeze. It was too sickening even to eat inside. When we ran out of toilet paper, our hosts asked us to buy our own. The farm animals were generally charming, especially if you like them on your dinner table. There was general... More

Thank you Andrew and Tom for your hospitality during our recent stay! Les Papillons was a real gem. This old farm house in the country is ideally situated for exploring The Dordogne region. It is a short walk through orchards to the river and then another short walk along the river into Bezac with its fine restaurants and superb castle.... More

My wife and I came to this area to stay at this quaint B & B at the recommendation of friends. The only way I can describe is, it was like visiting old friends in the country. Tom and Andrew made us feel very welcome in their home. The animals around the property were funny, entertaining and each came with... More

Andrew and Tom made us feel like members of their family for the few days we stayed at Les Papillons. We had the run of their lovely home with its clean and bright rooms, luxury beds and convenient bathrooms. It was the ideal place from which to explore the Dordogne valley. Andrew and Tom helped us make the most of... More

What a lovely welcome from two of the most caring guys you could wish to meet. They looked after us in their home as if we were part of their family and the food was beautifully cooked and served with a never ending supply of wine. This has got to be one of the best B&B locations in the Dordogne... More

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at Andrew and Tom's B&B and could not have been more pleased. They are very hospitable hosts who go out of their way to create a pleasant and pleasing environment. Breakfasts on the beautiful grounds under the whisteria vines and willow tree was always pleasant. They are very knowledgeable re. the area... More

I never like to be too negative and I think that you have to take a range of reviews. So I booked Les Papillons on the strengths of the reviews and the photos on the website. Unfortunately, when we got there, it appeared to have been let go. There were lots of dogs and cats, which I don't normally mind... More

This customer did not stay here - I dispute the review - the house is clean and does not smell of animals - all future customers reading this review should please note that this is chambres d'hôtes in an old French farm house with animals - dogs cats and chickens - it is not a Hotel - and I would... We have stayed at Les Papillons a couple of times and on both occasions have had a wonderful time. Tom and Andrew run an authentic chambre d'hote. Their beautiful home is an old converted farmhouse, full of charm and set in an ideal location. Breakfast is traditional, evening meals are delicious and the wine does not stop flowing! Tom and...
