What a lovely location! Our cottage had everything we needed for a night stay. The cottage had a separate bedroom, a spacious bathroom and a kitchen living area. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast supplies included, toast, condiments, muesli and juice. The locally roasted coffee was a lovely addition. The cottage is part of the golf club and we enjoyed the kangaroos roaming the property and near our cottage in the morning.

Dear Maria Z, It is wonderful to read that you enjoyed the coffee that is included within the complimentary breakfast hamper - we have been working with local coffee roaster, Silva Coffee, for several years now and it's great to be able to showcase so many of the amazing food and wine producers that the Yarra Valley is renowned for. Our one-bedroom cottages are quite spacious and it's always lovely to have a separate living area to enable you to spread out and totally relax within whilst in getaway mode. Each cottage's private deck also becomes a wonderful viewing platform to view our kangaroos as they graze around you and watch our incredible bird life that call our private nature reserve home. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted that you enjoyed the peacefulness of our natural surrounds and we do hope to be able to welcome you back to Yering Gorge Cottages again the future - maybe for an extra night or two.

located barely an hour and a half drive away from Melbourne, this place is a luxurious piece of heaven! co-existing beautifully with nature, you are literally glamping where lovely kangaroos, wombats, cockatoos, and a host of other exotic birds moving about freely in their home and you're welcome! the cottage itself is pleasant, spacious, and designed for complete privacy making you feel like you own the estate and the troops of kangaroos hopping about are your darling pets! driving straight up to your cottage and parking right next to it adds to the private holiday feel. Oh yes, you need a car to get here - no other way to move around. the property has a golf course attached to it and the vast expanse of greens adds to the sheer grandeur of the place. a morning run around the greens while the roos watch on curiously is just what the doctor ordered! There are other wine estates around the area but if you're looking for bustling eateries / public area action, you need to drive for a bit longer to nearby towns like Healesville or Lillydale. If I must find a fault, I will ask for a better breakfast (instead of the packed homemade granola / orange juice, and coffee) and generally better service support - although, I think both aspects are temporarily affected by the makeshift structures being used for backend operations since the wildfires of 2023. Maybe they'll get it all back by the time I go their next time - 'cause yessss, go I will..!! we planned only 1 night the last time. Given the late 3pm check in and early 10am check out time of the property, now we know better! :) I'm keeping one day to just breathe, relax, unwind, watch the roos hopping about, and enjoy! Dear Jill1108, Wow, what amazing words following your time with us in very beautiful part of the Yarra Valley. Waking up as the kangaroos' graze around your cottage is very special, and watching as they graze at dusk a beautiful way to end the day. How lucky were you to be able to see some of our gorgeous wombats - normally quite shy, this is a very magical treat to add to your highlight moments from your stay. Our natural surrounds are filled with so much beauty, and the peacefulness makes you feel like you've been away for so much longer than you have. The Yarra Valley is definitely a self-drive destination, but we can always recommend some favourite locals who are happy to do the driving for you. Thank you for your feedback regarding our continental breakfast hamper - we are yet to resume our Hamper Menu with our kitchen only opening again early this month after the loss of our clubhouse in October last year. We are hoping to do this very soon and will offer guests an upgrade option to their breakfast - a truly Australian experience with a cookup on your BBQ on your cottage's private deck. It's fabulous to read that we will see you again and we cannot wait to welcome you back to Yering Gorge Cottages next time you are in the Yarra Valley - next time for a two or three-night getaway. Thank you again for your amazing review - it's very much appreciated.

These cottages are great and what A place ti see kangaroos in close distance although rmthey are living in a nature. As we arrived to our cockatoos, we saw over 40 kangaroos within close distance. Also the cacado’s were very friendly. Too bad that the main building with restaurant had burned and dinner had to found somewhere else.

Dear j_takatalo, It was lovely to welcome you to Yering Gorge Cottages - we are delighted to read that you enjoyed your time with us. Our natural surrounds are so private and peaceful and, for our guests who love to see our wildlife population in their natural habitat - it provides an amazing experience for them and many photo opportunities. We were devastated by the loss of our beautiful clubhouse but have begun the recovery process with our first food and beverage pop-up experience, the Members' Square, already open. In December, our Members' Pavilion will open - providing those guests who don't wish to be self-contained with another dining experience. Thank you for sharing your stay with us and we do hope to be able to welcome you back again soon.

Such a beautiful experience. If you love nature and animals this is the perfect place for you to stay. It’s like camping in a 5 star cabin. The best feeling is sitting out on the porch drinking a glass of wine or a hot coffee while looking out onto the grass watching the kangaroos and cockatoos.

It's probably the best stay on my trip to Melbourne. For us city dwellers from Singapore, the vast reserve with Kangaroos, golf course, and nice big cottages is a big plus. The weather was great and cooling so walking in the outdoors was comfortable. The cottage is great. Self contained and big. Special thanks to Lee the Rooms Manager and Jacky the Engineering Manager for the wonderful service. Highly recommend. Will definitely return

If you like a quite, peaceful and serene place to get away from all the hustle and bustle, this is the place to go. The cottage have a fire place and on a cold day with a glass of wine, is a perfect combination. In the morning there was a low hanging mist with kangaroos out and about. We stayed for 3 nights and went hot air ballooning, wine tasting, gin tasting, chocolate factory and wonderful food nearby. We also walk the trial. Will return again

Such a beautiful place. We started our family holiday with a stay in the 4 bedroom cottage for our group of 9. It was spacious and comfortable for all of us. Surrounded by nature and kangaroos, it was definitely a treat for adults and children alike to spot the kangaroos every time we looked out. The cottage was very well maintained and fully equipped which made it a joy to stay in. Despite being cold outside, we took the opportunity to use the barbecue grill to prepare our dinners and sit outdoors enjoying the sounds and sights of nature. The breakfast amenities provided was more than sufficient for our short stay. The electric blanket was a welcoming comfort at the end of each day and it was a treat to have a fireplace for us city dwellers. There were plenty of kangaroos while we were there and we would see whole families including the joeys in their mummies' pouch just outside our cottage. They were mostly active in the mornings and the evenings hence we looked forward to returning to the cottage to see them every time we went out. Would definitely choose to stay again if we were to visit in future.

We loved it and the kids loved it even more! Cottage is v clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable and comes with an electric blanket, which was a savior as the room has no heater and would depend on the heat from the living room. There is a jacuzzi in the bathroom and its so nice to see them using l’occitane products.. Brekkie and BBQ hamper was v much sufficient for our family of 4. Check-in is done at the main building whereby the accommodation and golf section shares a reception counter. We missed this and drove right into the cottage area and had to drive out again. Over our 2 nights stay, we only saw the kangaroos twice - once after we checked in (a few lazing around) and the folllowing morning around lunch (this time round a whole big troop was hopping to a particular area in the jungle). Kids were a little disappointed as we had thought they would be a ‘permanent sight’. But not a big deal for us and wouldnt drop a star for this awesome place

Dear SuakuJoy, It was lovely to welcome you and your family to stay with us during your time in Victoria, Australia. Winter is always a magical time to visit - being able to light a fire in your cottage and rugging up as your explore our natural surrounds is always a wonderful experience. Electric blankets are a must during winter - it's lovely to warm up your bed before retiring for the evening. All cottages do feature an open fireplace and reverse cycle air-conditioning; our two and four-bedroom cottages also have their own reverse AC in each bedroom. We do apologise that our kangaroos might not have been out all day - after grazing in the morning, they usually head up to the hills until later in the afternoon. If the weather is a bit wet, this may also see them seeking shelter. Thank you for your wonderful review - it is very much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back again very soon.
