If you are looking for somewhere quiet, pretty and comfortable to spend the weekend, this could well be it. Hosts are very welcoming. Within walking distance of the town for restaurants etc. The only minor thing they could do is make it clearer where you are supposed to go on arrival.

We arrived on a cold and wet day to a warm welcome in more ways than one, with a greeting from the hosts and a log fire. Six o'clock is wine time and web were provided with wine and nibbles while we chatted with our hosts and other guests. The bedroom was on the small side but cosy, they even... More

John and Sandra are fabulous hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay as we were made to feel so welcome and the house is a glorious restoration. John even left us chocolates for when we got back from the cinema!

John & Sandra have lovingly restored this old building to a high standard with a period feel. Whilst our room would have benefited from drawers or shelves and more hanging space it was comfortable and pleasant to be in. The evening get together with drinks and home made nibbles was always enjoyable with John & Sandra as gracious and genial... More

Stayed at the Old Manse following 2 recommendations and we were not disappointed. The Old Manse was delightful, accommodation boutique in style, spotlessly clean. Sandra and John made our visit. Great hosts, we were made to feel very welcome. John makes a delicious breakfast and perfect poached eggs! Whilst Sandra hosts evening gatherings over Canapes and wine at 6 pm... More

John & Sandra have renovated this house to a really high standard and it is a privilege to stay here. They are great hosts who like to share their evening drinks and canapés with you which enables you to find out more about this lovely wine region and compare notes with other travellers. John was even diligent enough to make... More

You couldn't meet a nicer couple than John and Sandra. If there was ever a 'Come Stay with Me' TV show, The Old Manse would win hands down. Five beautifully appointed rooms feature ornate ceilings and flow elegantly into private ensuites with the highest degree of historic elegance and old world charm. The open-plan lounge and dining area are a... More

We spent three perfect days in Martinborough in the New Year, and our stay at the Old Manse made our holiday wonderful. It is a beautifully restored house; the rooms are luxurious and restful. The hosts Sandra and John are kind and charming; they provide an excellent breakfast to order, and most memorably, drinks and canapés in the early evening,... More

Staying at the Old Manse was a real treat thanks to the outstanding hospitality of our hosts, John and Sandra. The canapes and wine tasting at 6pm are a lovely touch. Whilst we were there we were lucky enough to meet not only fellow travellers but also friends of John and Sandra who live locally and as a result we... More

A delightful turn of the century homestay on the edge of lovely Martinborough. Rooms are light, bright & airy. High ceilings add to the feeling of space. Bathrooms are well supplied with lovely local toiletries. The welcoming owners host a wine hour in the lounge/ deck area every evening at cocktail hour-a good chance to compare notes on your day...
