The resort is about what you would expect for a state run facility. They are in the process of remodeling the Main Lodge and building 2 new buildings adjacent to the Lodge for accomodations. The ski area is located about 2-3 miles away and have to be transported by bus from resort. More

This was our second time staying here and love this resort. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. It snowed the entire weekend and the staff was wonderful about clearing the sidewalks and parking area. I took my family up to Canaan Valley over the long MLK weekend. Found a really good deal online. $40 per night for a lodge room. Given that price, I didn't expect much. Wow, was I wrong. We stayed three days. Very relaxing. They did take pets and we enjoyed all the surrounding countryside. The restaurant had a great buffet. We plan on returning to this resort in the future. More
