We went by the reviews in Trip Advisor and boy were we wrong? It could just be the personal taste and expectations, but our impressions are better shared than withheld we presume. Inkeepers live upstairs, reasonable people, but not seasoned inn keepers. The rooms have old paneling (which look like wood in pictures), the bathroom is separated by a mere... More

Welcoming hosts making Chestnut Ridge Inn an ideal B&B for a the lovely sojourn near Snowshoe WV. A great location, close to fantastic sceneryand with Snowshoe mountain very close by. All this made for an enjoyable stay for a brief ski weekend. The snow was good, and Chestnet Ridge Inn warm, clean and friendly.

We were in the area to attend the Roadkill Festival as well as going to the Green Bank Observatory. This was a great central location and the accommodation was very nice. We stayed in the restored cabin in the back which was very private. The breakfast the next morning was very filling and everyone was friendly, and I especially loved... More

We had a great stay with Larry and Paula. We felt like family and even got to meet the grandchildren. The location was just right, the weather was awful so a planned bike ride along the Greenbriar River was substituted for a ride on the Cass Railroad. The view of the mountains from the back yard is not to be... More

We chose the Chestnut Ridge Country Inn B&B as our central "base" for exploring the Pocahontas Country area. It gave us easy access to Cass, Snow Shoe, Green Bank and Marlinton. The inn is a beautifully restored old home set in a peaceful and quiet setting. We especially enjoyed sitting in the back yard looking over a pastoral scene surrounded... More

Situated in a beautiful rural area this B&B has both character and charm but it is the hosts that make the real difference. Owners Paula and Larry are helpful and friendly without being intrusive and go the extra mile to make Chestnut Ridge feel like a home from home.

Larry & Paula are pioneering the idea of the B&B in their local area. They are doing a great job. Being hospitable without being over-bearing is the big challenge for any B&B owner. But Larry & Paula achieve this. I would happily recommend Chestnut Ridge, not least for its charm and character, but most of all for the warm welcome... More

This property is in the middle of everything that Eastern West Virginia has to offer! It is quiet, and has lots of areas to relax in. We saw deer in the morning behind the property. 3 days into our vacation, I slipped on one of the boardwalks in a nearby park, and broke my leg. Larry and Paula were super... More

Charming, attentive hosts, wonderful large bedroom and huge bath room with double shower. Within 3 miles of the Greenbriar River bike trail. Many verandas to sit on, Adirondack chairs overlooking mountains, safe, quiet. The only thing keeping us from giving Paula and Larry a 5 star is great big, outdoor jacuzzi that we'd love to have had. Make sure you... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay that included the friendly and hospitable hosts, comfortable room, delicious breakfast, and accommodations for our car while we went bike camping on the Greenbrier Trail.
