I stayed at Wingate for a convention in Charleston (it was the designated hotel). i had some reservations after reading a few note-so-nice comments, but it was laid to rest once I checked in. It is located less than 500 yards off the I-28 exit with ample parking spaces. The hotel is across the street from some private residences.

Quiet location, clean, just off I-64 but can't see sign when travelling westbound so need to watch for exit. Has been updated, good service, breakfast better than some, beds were comfortable.

This is a beautifully redone Wingate. Everything is clean and modern. The bathrooms did not make it into the refurbishment, and show their age. Every year going from MO to NC we make this a place to stay. It is located in the heart of it all. Always a warn and welcome feeling staying here.
