Great hotel with wonderful views of the bluffs and Mississippi River. We enjoyed the Pines cabin with plenty of room for our family. Separate bedroom, jacuzzi tub, and foldout couch in the living room. Nice deck. Great little restaurant with friendly staff and amazing food! Enjoyed live music at the restaurant on Valentines Day.

The rooms are small and basic - more for sleeping in than relaxing but that's okay because there is a beautiful forest across the street to hike or bike in. Stayed at this hotel as part of a group bicycling tour in Trempealeau county and had a great time. The historic rooms are over the bar and restaurant, and there was loud music from the bar until at least midnight (and this was in the middle of the week!) Plus, huge freight trains blast through at 70 MPH about 200 feet from the hotel, on and off all night. Can't imagine anybody getting a good night's sleep in those... More

If your idea of a vacation is to relive your college nights of trying to sleep thru the party downstairs, this is your spot. Service was very good. Food was average and overpriced for the quality. This was ok as an 'experience' but likely not to be repeated.

We reserved our rooms a few weeks in advance and called a week before to find out that someone else had reserved our room. Food is terrible and overpriced.

great view of the Mighty Mississippi, standards and also unusual surprising dishes (ahi tuna, walnut burger, local perch!), laid back, great drinks and wine lise (organice, yeh), hotlel is spartan but a decent bed and Dirt Cheap for the location. three thumbs up!
