Location is a little out of the way but it is quiet and the view is unmatched. We stayed in the crows nest and it was incredible, sitting on our private balcony drinking wine, watching the sunset, just incredible. The hosts are incredibly nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend this BnB.

we stayed here for 5 nights in the Pacific room. this is a small bnb with only 3 rooms, on the mountainside in Captain Cook. The family is great-welcoming, accommodating and very helpful with anything you need. Kurt is very helpful with restaurants, things to do, etc. The room we stayed in is very large, the bathroom is huge-you could... More

We had a great stay at this Captain Cook B&B. Our room was spacious and convenient with a large deck looking out over the coast and ocean to the West. The sunsets were truly beautiful. The drive in to the B&B requires a careful read of instructions the first time, but the quiet and secluded site is worth it. Breakfasts... More

We spent 11 wonderful days at the Edge in November 2012. We have had many nice vacations, but this was by far the best ! I would recommend staying at the Edge to anyone who wants to avoid crowds of tourists and learn tons of things about the magical Big Island. Kurt is very nice and knowledgeable, and he talks... More

Kurt, Kana, and Jenna are amazing hosts! They're very welcoming and delightful people. Kurt has an extensive knowledge of the Big Island that he's very open to sharing. You could not ask for better hosts. The breakfast each morning was delightful and delicious. We were in the Crow's Nest. The room was very spacious, well kept, and had a beautiful... More

Located in the working rural farm in Big Island. Exceptional experience. Fantastic view and great breakfast. This is not hotel, this is much more. 45 min drive from an airport, you need to use detailed Kurt's instrucion to get there. You can use good working internet but there are problems with signal for mobile phones. . I just want to... More

Arriving at night, driving to The Edge down a narrow, windy, hilly road, following Kurt's explicit instructions left me thinking, what have I gotten us into and my husband thinking what has SHE gotten us into? No worry, it's just an adventure that ends up great! If you want comfort and informality, along with fabulous views from the rooms and... More

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at the Edge and wished we'd been able to stay longer. Kurt and Kana are wonderful hosts and their home is comfortable and unpretentious. We liked the Nut Room--a great value for the price. The grounds are lovely and the views of the ocean are great.

Kurt and family were extremely friendly and accommodating. We loved the room, the view and the whole house. We brought our two young kids and they felt comfortable roaming the grounds and enjoyed playing with Kurt's daughter Jenna. The breakfast was excellent, featuring fresh fruit and a variety of main dishes. Kurt was an excellent tour guide, offering great insights... More
