The Mana Kai Maui (Spirit by the Sea and Maui) is a sparkling jewel that places you right where you want to be — and steps from the soft sands of Keawakapu (Forbidden Cove) Beach. Both the Mana Kai Maui and Keawakapu Beach are located at the far southern end of South Kihei Road, bordering the entrance to Wailea. The mile-long-beach is a popular swimming, snorkeling and the perfect location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Maui. Here you are offered the convenience of having all of your needs met at our beachfront property, or venturing out to Wailea (less than 5 minutes away). Just north of the Mana Kai are the bustling activities of Kihei, popular restaurants, shops, and activities, (which we can happily arrange for you) from seeing waterfalls to whales (seasonal).

The Mana Kai Maui, the official on site rental management program, manages 44 two bedroom condominiums. The variety of condo upgrades has created nine different categories, ranging from Hotel Room to newly renovated Ali’i Condominium. One building, 8 story, 2 elevators and there are no ground floor units, all rooms start on the 2nd floor. All of the Condominium category rooms have a private lanai (patio) with fabulous million dollar views of the sandy beach of Keawakapu. Daily maid service, (no check out cleaning fee) and pool towel exchange is included in the rate. Free parking, free WIFI, Fitness and Business Center and no resort fees.

Our front desk is open daily from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm HST. Our reservations staff is also located on site and available Monday – Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, HST. Reservations department is closed on the weekends and most major holidays; however, guests may book their reservations online 24/7.

The Mana Kai Maui ‘ohana (family) strive to preserve the “Aloha Spirit.” Our guests have been returning for many years. Some even returning since the year we opened in 1973. Generations of visitors return annually and are greeted with aloha by their names. Just as our visitors return year after year, we have the good fortune of retaining a long-time staff with a handful of employees with 20+ years of service. It is this familiarity that embraces the soul and spirit of the Mana Kai Maui ~ where true Aloha lives.

I'm biased, but the view from the top floor (especially Mana Kai 805) is beyond compare. You can see out to Molokini, and during the winter there's a ton (heh) of whale activity. A beautiful long beach abuts the property with good swimming and also a great reef for snorkeling, and there are typically lots of turtles. The hotel grounds are pretty and have space for chairs, and while Mana Kai is not as swanky as the Wailea hotels, it's cheaper and also not filled with those snooty White-Lotus types. There's an 808 Deli onsite for quick bites, and supposedly an onsite restaurant will open any day now (but not as of Feb 2024).

I had reservations in Kaanapali that we decided to cancel after the Lahaina tragedy. However, I called and spoke to Juliet at the reservation desk. Juliet hit it out of the park and convinced my wife and I to come. The condo she booked us had great views and was very clean and comfortable. Everyone from Austin at the front desk. Winston the general manager made sure our visit was impeccable. The main manager Doug was so friendly and informative. Kim and I decided to come back next year again in September. Thank you all for making this trip happen and showing us what the true meaning of Mahalo means. We Vic will see you next year! Billy and Kim Burgen say aloha!

What a lovely hotel! The room had everything we needed with a large comfy bed. It was right on the beach where we enjoyed morning and evening strolls. The staff were very friendly and helpful. In terms of location it was spot on! Walking distance from shops and restaurants and not far from all the activities we did like snorkeling and hiking. Would definitely stay again

We had to quickly find a place after the Lahaina tragedy occurred a week before we were due to arrive. Mana Kai was not a $2000/night Wailea hotel, but excellent for a fraction of the cost - and we were given the very room that is pictured here on trip advisor. It was just as elegant as the pictures, spotless and equipped with everything we could ask for. Our view was down the Kihei coast and we loved listening to the waves all night with the doors open to the lanai. There were plenty of beach chairs, palm trees for shade, and the hotel is literally a few yards from the sand. The pool was clean, but we preferred the beach. Our unit was rented through the on-site management company who manages only some of the units, but others use other intermediaries, and I suspect that they vary in renovation quality. All of the "ali'i" rooms face the beach, but not the hotel rooms. As in many Hawaiian high rise condos, you reach your room from an outdoor walkway. Each door has a code, no key, and then a second pair of doors, one to the hotel room on the parking lot side and one to the larger units on the beach side. There was easy parking and an excellent convenience store on site with everything we needed, but the restaurant was closed. Management warns about noise renovations during weekday hours, but we saw and heard nothing from Friday morning through Monday morning. Finally, the staff was welcoming and helpful. Mana Kai was one of the few places we have stayed that exceeded our expectations.

Our family of 10 had a wonderful experience at Mana Kai Maui. This was our first visit to Hawaii and feel so very fortunate to have been able to give our children and grandchildren beautiful memories. Winston was so very accommodating, pleasant, and helpful. With the exercise room under construction, Winston loaned me some weights to use during our stay. He worked with us for a later check out time which was so appreciated. We pray for all your safety in light of the devasting recent fire. We are so grateful to have experienced your beautiful area. With sincere appreciation. Ohio traveler

The perfect location at a very affordable price if your like me and dont spend your vacation at the hotel. Clean room, clean sheets, clean bathroom and towels, hot water. Just use the room to sleep and shower and spend the whole day seeing the beautiful island. Highly recommend renting a car. I rented a Jeep wrangler which made the experience even better :)).

We celebrated our 60th Wedding anniversary at this resort for 10 days in June 2023. We loved our room with a full-on view of ocean out our front windows and from our lanai. We were in room 801 A and paid extra to guarantee this room. It was worth it. Very nicely decorated and furnished and immaculately clean when we checked in. There is nothing more we could have asked for. We would go back in an instant for the location alone, right on a sandy beach with a huge grassy area in addition. Management was very responsive to anything we needed and we used the concierge, Tracey, who was very efficient and helpful prior to our visit and during our visit. Management was very responsive. Housekeeping every third day was adequate for us. Be sure to plan to go to a local grocery store early-on for needed items Prices in the little resort store were outrageous. Otherwise, we have only positive to report.

Wonderful stay! Probably one of the best beaches on the island and every unit faces the beach. Nice clean pool and open lobby area. Room was nice fairly clean and bed was comfortable. As it’s been said front desk closes around 4 but there is someone on site for security. General store had most of what you’d need. Kehei as a whole is a decent drive from many things but honestly don’t know why anyone would attempt Maui without a rental car.

Mahalo for your response. The front desk is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. The Maui Bus is our island transit system that operates daily as well with stops, north and south bound right in front of the property. To see the island, it is best to rent a car. Thank you for choosing to stay with us!!!
